Amilia Mare Rhodes

We were excited to stay here after reading the amazing reviews about this newish 5 star Hotel in Rhodes. I guess the clue is in the name - FAMILY resort - it was full of families with young children which is of course no problem at all but we didn’t realise how few Adults only would be here. The sunbeds around the main pool are so busy and chaotic. We were lucky enough to use beds in the next door Elissa resort which is an Adults only and should have been where we stayed. Our junior suite was basic to say the least. Just a sofa bed in the suite area and we had to use the outside table in this space as storage is inadequate. The room really smelled of drains. There are NO BATHTUBS in any room in this place - something I wasn’t expecting. The grey concrete walls in the toilet and shower room are cold and uninviting. There is no bathroom as such - 2 sinks in an open area between the shower room and the toilet. Our room looked directly into the main restaurant which I think is unacceptable lack of privacy- we had to keep the curtains shut all the time as the main buffet restaurant was always busy. Room was cleaned daily and fresh towels. The mini bar only had water and a few cans of soft drinks in it. There were stains on the carpets throughout the corridors and a general feeling of neglect. Nasty smells at some points outside the building were also off putting. It rained twice which caused part of the main restaurant to be closed as water poured through the outdoor space. There was no adequate drainage so the floors were very slippy. The food in the main restaurant was ok but as other reviews pointed out the food wasn’t very hot at times. Plenty of choice though. The drinks - cocktails way too sweet, the draft Diet Coke tasteless and the lager really frothy - at least it meant I didn’t drink too much. The street hub food for lunch was ok - enjoyed the crepes and ice cream. We enjoyed the Laerma restaurant as food was so so good - best restaurant by far but we booked it as soon as we arrived as knew difficult to get a reservation. Also enjoyed the Matsi Italian restaurant- made a welcome change from the Lopia main restaurant The staff however here are super friendly and that really is the only redeeming feature. My tip to anyone who wants a nice holiday in this area is definitely book Elissa next door - a much better option.

Albion and his team. He’s very sweet and pays a lot of attention to his customers. He gave us very tasteful drinks and we had very interesting conversations. 10/10! Also Lizel was very sweet and cute!!Besos

Great service, meals arrive VERY fast and when having the Dine-Around Concept, you can eat as many dishes und rounds as you wish! Really good and attentive server Angie, who made sure we had the whole experience!

Our stay was wonderful. + Food was so good! We saw reviews for the buffet not being good, but honestly everything was delicious. There is a lot of options and the food changes from day to day. + The greek a la carte restaurant was our favourite. We had an amazing dinner. All thanks go to Artemisa, Chrysa, Peter, Mao and Teresa team! They made us feel very welcomed and took good care of us. + The staff is so polite and helpful! Everyone at the resort is so nice. + Even if the hotel is booked, you can easily find a spot at the pool, beach or restaurants + Drinks at the beach bar and main bar are delicious!! + You can book a bus from infront of the hotel to old town. It is cheap and convenient! +/- it is a family hotel, so expect kids, but honestly it didn't bother me as much as i thought it would. Kids are mainly at the pool. - we had standard deluxe room, that was located at the far right and seperated from the main building. Because of this we needed to have about 4min walk to the restaurants, pool and beach. This was a little bit inconvenient. - the walls of the rooms are thin and you can hear your neighbours. Also, there was a locked door in our room, that lead to the other room. But they were locked. - tap water is not drinkable, so you need to be extra careful, but you get used to it. Would recommend staying here!

Lovely hotel and lovely food. Diana and Albion from the Ammuda bar went the extra mile and nothing was too much hassle. Evening entertainment was great. Large variety of food options in the all inclusive buffet - gyros and street food bars were useful and a nice change during the day. Staff here were all very helpful and friendly :) Downside was lack of daytime entertainment around the pool and music on the private beach would create a better atmosphere. Cocktails on the pool bar did not taste as expected and extremely strong - much nicer from the Ammuda or inside bars. We had a deluxe swim up room for 3 adults. Would have expected to not have a sofa bed and the two singe beds were extremely creaky which disturbed our sleep. Overall a lovely holiday so far 😀

We were really satisfied with our stay at this hotel. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained, with daily housekeeping done carefully. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always quick to help with any requests. Special thanks to Zozan and Fotis during our stay as they were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast & lunch & dinner had a wide variety and was delicious, especially with the fresh products offered. The location was both close to the city center and quiet, which made our holiday very relaxing. Just highlighted one point this is family hotel so most of the visitors with kids. We would gladly recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again.
