Rixos Tersane Istanbul

A really great hotel, we even got a mini-tour when we checked in. The reception staff were incredibly friendly, and there were two Russian-speaking employees, one of whom was Camilla. She even messaged me on WhatsApp before check-in to confirm my arrival time. We arrived a day late due to our own mistake, but after we notified the hotel, they upgraded us to a better room as a bonus! That was a lovely surprise! Their customer service is top-notch! The pool is amazing, and the views from the hotel at breakfast and from the room are fantastic too. We'll definitely be back in the warmer months!

My stay at Rixos this time was quite disappointing. Let's start with the positives: the hotel has a great sea view, a rich breakfast, convenient shopping nearby, and the overall environment is also good. The main issues were with the service process, staff allocation, training, and room management, which simply didn't align with a five-star rating and the price paid. When checking in at night, there were many guests queuing, and only two staff members were at the front desk. After realizing there was an error with our room type, we immediately returned to the front desk. At that point, the queue was even longer. We tried to explain our situation to a few staff members who weren't actively checking people in, but they just told us to get back in the queue, offering no further coordination or assistance. As a result, we had to wait for a very long time again. For guests who have already checked in but need an issue resolved due to a hotel error, this kind of handling is incredibly frustrating. We booked a king-size bed room but were assigned two single beds. The staff initially said the beds could be pushed together, but upon returning to the room, we found the beds were fixed to the floor and couldn't be moved at all. We had to go back to the front desk and queue again. Eventually, a different staff member directly gave us the correct king-size room. This whole process took almost an hour. The previous staff member later apologized and mentioned they weren't aware that some single beds couldn't be moved. Such lack of training and familiarity with operations is unacceptable for a five-star hotel. I thought the room change would be the end of it, but the minibar in the new room hadn't been properly tidied either – there were eaten chocolates and drinks were messy. I was speechless. 🤣

We stayed at the hotel in early August 2026. Here are the downsides that really spoiled our experience: - Poor service in the restaurant during breakfast. Not enough seating during prime time. We constantly had to ask for water and cutlery, and plates were rarely cleared. - A shortage of sun loungers in the pool area and poor service there as well. - Room cleaning started off great, but then they stopped replacing towels. On the positive side: + It's in a new neighborhood with restaurants, a shopping mall, and a promenade nearby. However, the hotel is a bit far from the historic center, so you'll need to take a taxi (for us, this was a plus because we wanted to stay in a clean and beautiful area and visit the 'real' city when needed). + The hotel's design is very beautiful. There's a stunning panoramic pool, and both guests and staff are lovely. + Breakfast was good, with plenty of pastries, fruits, and so on.

We are all filming our own movies. And the scenery we choose for these movies matters. A place isn't just a building, a bed, or a beautiful view. It's a story, an atmosphere, the people around you, the service, and the details through which you can try on a new version of yourself. Out of all of Istanbul, I chose Rixos Tersane. I was inspired by its location in the historic Tersane district. The hotel's format, an Urban Resort, really resonates with me: a lively street nearby, shopping centers, an embankment, and city life – and yet, you're treated to the most beautiful view of the Golden Horn. Six hundred years ago, this was an Ottoman shipyard. And this past hasn't been hidden behind modern luxury: the stone walls and elements of the infrastructure have been preserved, and a part of the old shipbuilding crane has literally become part of the restaurant. It's an unusual blend of past and future: industrial heritage, modern luxury, technology, fashion, and art. Rixos Tersane positions itself as a global art space. It has its own collection of contemporary art, and the works become part of the hotel itself. You stop feeling like someone who simply came to a place where you're fed delicious food and served beautifully. You become part of the art object itself. And the space begins to subtly influence you: you want to dress differently, move, talk, look at people, express yourself differently. But there were two factors that completely won me over. The first is the heated pool. I can only swim in warm water, so this was a 100% match 💔. And the second – my inner 'overprotective mom' mode immediately said yes! when, just two minutes from the hotel, I discovered the Nickelodeon entertainment complex, and entry is free for Rixos guests. And it was one of those evenings where a mom simply sits and watches her child be happy. To be honest, this factor was fundamental in choosing the hotel, as I didn't even know about the outdoor heated pool yet. Perhaps that's the secret to a successful hotel. It can impress with its scale, architecture, history, and art. But a truly good hotel is one that speaks directly to you 🫶 Rixos Tersane ❤️

Absolutely fantastic! Located right on the Golden Horn, with calm waters and facing the old European district. This place is definitely worth visiting; it feels like a holiday paradise. I'll be heading straight back here next time. Barely saw any East Asian faces, though.

A wonderful place, very beautiful, with great service and excellent breakfasts. The area around the hotel is new and very pleasant for walks, with many good restaurants and clothing stores. Thanks to the hotel and its new surroundings, I got to see a completely different side of Istanbul.

First time staying at this hotel, and everything was wonderful. The staff are incredibly attentive and helpful. The grounds, pools, loungers, towels, bar, and waiters all deserve a perfect score. The only minor downside for me was the very dark rooms – the walls, ceilings, etc. The designer must be a fan of dark colors! Overall, though, everything was excellent. We definitely recommend it!

Everything was great – the hotel, the mall, and the kids' entertainment center. Everyone was super friendly and positive, and the sunset was amazing! 💜🪬🧿
