I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights in May 2025. Overall, it's ok for a budget traveler. For me, the main criteria were a clean bed and a normal location.
So:
- The hostel is located among pubs, in the Sultanahmet area, the Hagia Sophia mosque is nearby, it's a 5-minute walk. BUT: you have to walk about 15 minutes to public transport (10 minutes to the Sultanahmet stop, 15 minutes to Gulhane, 20 minutes to Sirkeci), and you walk up and down the hills. It's inconvenient to get there with a suitcase.
- The bed is clean, the mattress is comfortable (not soft, medium-hard - closer to hard), the towel is clean.
- The cleanliness of the room is generally pleasant, there are no visible stains or anything terrible. BUT: the floors look like they haven't seen wet cleaning, because of this the room smells not very nice, but I aired it out.
- I booked a room with a private bathroom, but arrived late, they gave me a room with a shared bathroom and returned part of the money. Shared shower and toilet on the floor. In terms of cleanliness - not a dorm, of course, but not ideal, but I did not expect more. Toilet paper was always available and soap in a dispenser. The mirrors and sinks there are dirty. The hot water pressure in the shower is excellent, a hair dryer in the toilet, but I did not use it.
- The room supposedly has an air conditioner, but without a remote control. The humidity in the room is high, I was freezing at night, it was late May. The blanket is normal, but I still felt cold, like in the off-season, when the heating is turned off. I advise you to take warm pajamas with you.
- The area is a small room with a bed and shelves on the sides, a small round mirror and that's it. We put the suitcase on the floor. There are a couple of hooks in the wall for clothes, it was not enough for me. It is fine for a couple of nights for one person. - noise is the weakest side of the hostel. The doors are locked with a key, old doors. The doors slam loudly, be prepared to listen at night to the slamming of doors of all the guests returning at night or getting up at 6 am. Many students stay for a couple of nights - these kids are quite noisy and enter the room with noise and din. Advice - take earplugs.
- breakfast, it's ok for me, but I eat little. Coffee here from the machine - tastes like three in one. I drank mostly tea.
