The reception was very welcoming and fast. Happy that I was upgraded to a suite. My request for a jug kettle and supply of tea and coffee was entertained. My room was spacious, facing the street, the bed comfortable and the shower was new with good hot and cold water pressure. The breakfast spread was good to start the day with the lady and her daughter in attendance to your needs.

It is totally inconsistent with the actual situation. I don't know why Ctrip cooperates so poorly with the hotel.

The location is great. World heritage sites are within walking distance. Trams and subways are also nearby. Convenience store is also nearby. However, tall people should avoid living in the attic. I hit my head.

The hotel is in a great location and not bad in itself. Unfortunately it is very old. Nothing has been done for a long time and the new hotel owner is now slowly trying to catch up. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special. + the location - very old and extremely loud. You really hear everything. Every step and every gait. Oropax are definitely necessary. - Cleanliness leaves something to be desired, and I'm not really picky

Booked 5 nights. Dreadful rooms, bore no resemblance to those shown on photo, very shoddy finishing, dimsal tattered wall paper, horrible black felt floor covering, shabby furnishing, disgusting shower room. We refused to stay another night and paid in liras for the one we spent there. The hotel management fraudulently tried to make an unauthorised deduction on my card for the full five nights. I got an alert from my banking informing of this and that it had prevented the funds from leaving my account. We were also overcharged for the meal we had on the evening we arrived at the restaurant which belonged to the Hotel, and was just round the corner where it served breakfast at an extra charge. We had a meal there on the night we arrived and as new arrivals to Istanbul were taken gross advantage of and charged 3,214 liras about £80, for a meal that was nothing special and consisted of a shared mezze and two main dishes, chicken kebabs and mushroom and cheese casserole. We subsequently learnt that a nice meal at a decent restaurant costs less that 1,700 liras.

A delightful experience from beginning to end—from the friendly staff to the comfy room to the tasty breakfast buffet. Quite reasonably priced, too, considering it’s in the heart of the tourist district. Iskender was very helpful and attentive and went out of his way to make me feel at home. I ended up staying much longer than I had planned. Would definitely revisit!

I lived in the attic!! It's not even an attic, it's a shack! I booked a "Standard Economy" room. In reality, it's a doghouse. A complete humiliation of human dignity. The ceiling height is 1.5 meters. I couldn't stand up straight, everything had to be done sitting down. My back and neck were constantly in pain. I developed claustrophobia from such a low ceiling. You can't even take a shower there unless you're a fairy tale gnome. I endured 2 nights, paid for 4. They didn't refund the money. They demanded an additional 30% for a room with a regular ceiling. It's a scam! It's insane to accommodate people there.

Perfect location, great staff. The hotel is both budget-friendly and comfortable enough. Mr. Barış, Fatih and Ömer at the reception, everyone is extremely helpful and caring. The location of the hotel is right near the magnificent Gülhane park. It is at a point where you can easily go anywhere by public transportation. The price is very affordable considering its benefits. I will come again for sure

The hotel is quite dated and could do with a radical refresh...don't let the photos advertising it fool you, the reality is very different. However, it is quite cheap and you can't expect the moon but if you are looking for medium-high level accommodation it is not for you. Certainly the location, a few steps from Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the unmissable Cistern, is a plus along with the courtesy of the staff.

We stayed here April 6-11, 2023 for our Easter trip. As always, the choice of accommodation generates confusion in the family... As (almost) always I manage to hijack the decision according to my very personal perceptions and intuitions, which (almost) always turn out to be correct. If like me you love small, welcoming, warm hotels with few rooms, not at all pretentious, whose accommodations are perhaps housed in historic buildings, then you are in the right place: you will like the Safran Suite Hotel! We had room 402 (Agya Sofia), located on the second floor of the hotel. A small delightful suite with a panoramic terrace and breathtaking views. The size of the rooms and the bathroom is really small, but the decorations on the walls and the coffered wooden ceiling make up for the inconvenience of being a little cramped. The bathroom and the clean rooms perhaps with some details a little neglected but it is part of the charm of the structure. There is carpet on the floor, I point this out because some people might not like it. Every day the rooms are cleaned and tidied up, the beds are made and the towels are changed. The hotel is located in Sultanahmet in an excellent position for visiting the center (about 3 minutes on foot from Agya Sofia, 10 minutes from the Grand Bazar, 15 minutes from Eminonü) however it is decentralized and in a quiet street which ensures a peaceful sleep away from the chaos and the noise. In the same street there is a convenient, well-stocked minimarket, and on the corner a sensational restaurant, the Gülhane Sark Sofrasi, a must-try. Iskender, the hotel manager, proved to be very kind and helpful even before our arrival, sending me via WhatsApp all the information necessary for the transfer from the airport to the hotel. During our stay he was of great help to us by giving us good suggestions to make the most of our days. Another special mention to the two splendid and very kind ladies at breakfast: Tamara and the other Turkish lady... I'm sorry, I tried to learn the name but it was really too difficult. In short, as far as I'm concerned, a 5-star experience.

Tavoli sporchi dove fare colazione. Colazione scarsa. Purtroppo, la sporcizia ha prevalso su tutto. Peccato
