The room was a very basic room. No curtains to block to light so I had to use the bed runners to cover 1 window and the other had a white roll down blind that didn't block the light at all so the sleep was not good and to add up to this discomfort the room is facing the train tracks and it is less than 5mt away from the tracks so when the fast trains passed by I could hear a huge noise from the windows and it interrupted my sleep every morning before 6am which is not ideal when on holiday. The room is not done daily. They just did it the first day, the location is the only worth point of the hotel and the lady at the reception the morning by 7am starts with the broom sweeping that small bit at the reception and by the sound of it seems like she is slamming the floor with the broom totally careless of the room next the reception and the hotel has no lobby only a small cramped space with couple of seats but it has no outdoor or lobby space to seat by. The entrance door is so heavy and stiff that was really annoying to open it but the dude of the evening, tall receptionist he was friendly and kind and always propped the door open so that you don't have to pull that heavy stiff door yourself. I choose it only for the location and for the pics that clearly did not match my room but I guess it is the cheap option for the area. Cups and all the used stuff of the day were not cleaned/replenished and replaced with cleaned ones as the cleaners can't be bothered. Also there was no shower gel but only a small shampoo sample that has the same colour and texture of hands soap. Would not recommend it if there is a better option in this area.

The Naz Wooden Inn was fully booked, apparently and they put me up at their sister hotel - Denize Houses and the location is amazing, room is clean and area is safe. Would recommend to fellowsolo female travellers.. Max about 11 mins walk from Hotel

The location is good! It is very close to the blue mosque and Hagia Sophia. But unfortunately, the service is not good. We arrived in the morning but there was no staff opening the door for us. We called and it took around 15 mins for us to wait outside of the door. We realized that the staff may not be around the reception 24/7, which is not helpful especially you are the first time in Istanbul and not familiar with the surroudnings. We also tried to book a taxi to the airport from the hotel service. It turned out that they informed the taxi driver the wrong airport name and it cost us an extra 500 lira in total for the taxi fee. A bit hard to communicate...

Good hotel, cleaned regularly. Single room small but quiet. For three days they gave a spacious room for free. Thank you very much!

The room is small, but clean and tidy. It is not far from the Blue Mosque. The price/performance ratio is not high.

I was at the hotel for one day (21-05-23), it was a bit difficult to find as it is a bit forgotten away in a small street. But really nice for the price.

The hotel is clean, conveniently located near Sultanahmet. There is usually no administrator at the entrance, but there are phones and free Wi-Fi. The manager came in 5 minutes later. I had a very small room for 1 person but the price was high

Отличный отель, отличная цена. Минут 10 пришлось подождать администратора, но это мелочь, работает вай фай и очень хорошо даже в номере, что в турции в гостинице редкость. Очень приятный хозяин. Спасибо, обязательно приедем еще.

I chose this location as the pictures looked nice and the location was perfect for me. I checked in and met the manager, who is a nice old guy. His English is quite good. The room The room itself is on the third floor. You walk up a steep narrow staircase and pass several other rooms. My room was number 5 out of 6. It is small, but has everything you need. The bed mattress is a little hard, but I like that and my back felt good after sleeping in it for a few nights. (I have back issues). If you are taller than 6foot, your feet will touch the wall on the other side. I am 6 foot and did a few times, but it was not a problem. The bed does not have sheets or a duvet, it has a blanket that looks like a large towel – which is what you use to sleep under. This was a first for me, but it was fine. There is a small safe in the room which was handy for my camera. There is also air conditioning but when I got to the room, the remote was missing and the guy told me the AC season was over. I told him that I would need it and so he made a phone call and then came back upstairs with the remote. I thought this was a little strange. In the ad, it says AC, so I would suggest to them that they write in the listing that AC will be unavailable from certain times of the year. The weather when I was there was 30 degrees, it was quite hot. I did not use it all the time, but after I came back to the room, to cool it down etc. There is a hair dryer which is very old and when I used it, it made weird noises and I could see sparks inside it, so I did not use it again. The bathroom is adequate but needs a good clean as there is mould in quite a few places. Also dirty under the desk. One day, the manager walked into the room without knocking while I was working on my PC. I was a bit shocked and it was lucky that I was not naked after a shower. I asked him kindly to knock next time. The shower takes a few minutes to get warm water and the pressure is quite bad, but once it is on, it is ok. On the first day I had towels but they were all very small, but I got a normal sized one the next day. They have room tidying daily between 1200-1500. You get two small shower bottles and a one-litre bottle of water on your first day. These are not replenished. Some things to note: Call to prayer The large Sultanahmet Camli mosque is very close and you can see it from the window, so you will hear the call to prayers that happen five times a day starting at 0515. This was not a problem for me, but something to be aware of. I would say that all accommodation in that area would hear it unless it has very thick windows. Most places wouldn’t. Noise from street There is quite a lot of noise from the street below at night and during the day. They are building next door to the hotel, so you will hear that from 0900-1700 and at night, you will hear cars beeping their horns and people returning from being out. This woke me up quite a few times, but not a big problem. Area There are restaur

Had an excellent stay at Naz wooden house. Room 4 at the back was very spacious and clean, had a fridge and a comfortable double bed and sofa that converted into a slightly less comfortable bed (but workable by using the spare duvet as an extra cover). Bathroom was clean and all worked fine. Balcony at rear of room even provided a view of sliver of Bosphorus! :) there is a new electric rail line going in behind the hotel but it doesn’t seem to be up and running yet so heard no trains. There is a mosque not far from the rear of the hotel and the call to prayer can be a little noisy if early in morning, but for me it added to the amazing Istanbul soundscape. Budget hotel so wasn’t expecting luxury but got a friendly, clean and perfectly liveable room in a great location close to all the major Istanbul sights.

Firstly, really good service by the hotel owner who moved us to a sister hotel when we complained about the comically small room. Main advice - be sure to view any room before parting with any cash. Seems the rooms at the back of the hotel are a decent size and relatively quiet - the economy ones at the front are definitely not. Ours was laughable - double bed so tight to the window that the curtains were draped over my head - and no way to move it.

I had the best experience/service at this hotel. I was there for 6 nights and everyday Fatih, the owner accommodated my every need. I was a solo female traveler and their staff ensured my safety throughout the whole trip and I was in turkey for a month and experienced many stays. They also watched my bag and had it ready in the room when I returned from other cities. The hotel is clean, comfortable and in a great location 5 minute walk from the blue mosque and all the attractions. I would come back here in a heartbeat, 10/10 recommend them.
