Liostasi

Liostasi is an idyllic hotel located on the hill in between the port and the chora. Everything from start to finish was exceptional. The hotel communicated prior to our arrival to arrange the shuttle service from the port to the hotel. We were welcomed at the entrance by Anastasia who kindly led us to reception, where our luggage was taken and delivered directly to our room. We received a tour of the premises and a welcome drink before relaxing by the pool before check-in. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, ensuring we had a relaxed and enjoyable experience. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, showcasing a local cuisine style buffet and eggs a la carte selection. Thank you to the Liostasi staff for such a memorable experience on Ios.

We recently returned after spending 12 wonderful days at this hotel and on this beautiful island. Firstly, September is the perfect time to visit Ios as it is quiet and all the party people have departed leaving the lovely town and beaches quiet but still with a buzz. And the weather was wonderful - warm but with a breeze (a few days were very windy which affected ferries but not us on the island). To the hotel, we can speak highly enough of the hotel and the team. From the pick up from the ferry to there drop off, everything was wonderful and not too much trouble. We had a lovely ‘maisonette’ which was a little further away from the pool (a few steps!) and was quiet with lovely views. It meant we also had access to one of the pools which was quieter than the main pool. The room was spacious and really comfortable as well as being spotless and cleaned beautifully twice a day. The staff could not do enough for us - the front oof house team advised on places to go, where to eat, and took care of everything whilst we were there. And nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately we forgot everyone’s name but the bar manager makes exceptional cocktails (ask him for his special fig negroni) and the waiting staff at dinner and breakfast were incredibly nice and helpful - had some lovely chats with the team. Have to mention breakfast - such a comprehensive buffet with different things everyday. Beautiful. Ate at the restaurant a few times and the tasting menu was fantastic as were the wine choices. The hotel is in a perfect location - midway to the port / beach and old town but does involve steps but both are only 10 mins away on foot. We came to Ios just to see Homer's Tomb, but ended up LOVING Ios for its charming small town vibe. Everything is in walking distance from the hotel, and yet you feel tucked away. The staff at Liostasi were incredibly accommodating and attentive, and speak perfect English. We felt just like we were the only guests. The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed. The pool was perfect and unique, with the writings of Homer illuminated around the edge. Also, even though I am not always a fan of massages, this was THE BEST massage I have ever had at a hotel. The entire experience was lovely. We wish we could have stayed longer. *Have them arrange a tour of Ios. It is really fun to the see the island and meet the people, AND taste the cheese and honey at the cheese museum.

Everything about this hotel is wonderful, the setting, the service, the breakfast all faultless. My only niggle is that our room was very small for the price we paid. I highly recommend this place and will return but next time I’ll book a larger room and won’t use booking. Com who charged me over the odds.

We stayed at Liostasi Hotel during our minimoon, and it was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional – the staff were welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. The hotel itself is beautifully designed with a relaxed and luxurious atmosphere. Our room was stylish and comfortable, and we especially loved spending time by the pool – a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the view. Breakfast each morning was a real highlight – fresh and delicious. It was the perfect place to relax and celebrate such a special time in our lives. We’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ios, and we hope to return one day!

Fantastic hotel, newly remodeled and very clean, picturesque panoramic views, a very welcoming and accommodating staff top to bottom and clearly the best food on the island. Delicious. 5 stars !
