"This hotel is literally on a cliff! We wound our way up from the foot of the mountain to the summit, reaching an altitude of about 3300 meters. The rooms have oxygen supply, so altitude sickness wasn't too bad, though it varies from person to person. The 'golden mountain' (sunlight hitting the peak) appeared around a few minutes past 6 PM (late November).
The yak hotpot at the restaurant was delicious (maybe we were just really hungry). Breakfast didn't have many options, but everything tasted great, and the kids were able to get their fill. The biscuits at afternoon tea were tasty, but I personally didn't care for the salty butter tea.
After checking out at noon, we headed to the nearby Jiajin Mountain Pass. If you plan on climbing the snowy peaks, make sure to prepare your gear in advance. The snow at the summit was rock-hard and very slippery. Safety first!"
