"The view from my hotel room was amazing. I hiked all the way to the top of Cien Pagoda across the water from the port near its base and the view still wasn't as good as what I would wake up to in the morning.
In terms of convenience there's plenty in the small village below but it's definitely a smaller village than across the water in Ita Thao."

It's easy to reach by foot, and it can be said to be the most convenient homestay in the Qingjing Farm area.The Star Villa is about 1,800 meters above sea level. Although it has a convenient location, it is far away from Taiwan Route 14A, which makes the traffic on the road seem to have nothing to do with the Sky Star Resort; it also has a wide view of the park and faces Taiwan. There are several well-known mountains such as Snow Mountain Range, Shoucheng Mountain, Dongyan Mountain, Baigu Mountain, and you can see a magnificent mountain view.
"we really enjoyed our stay! the room was really nice and spacious, for 3 people to put out our luggages, bed is comfy as well. the breakfast is yummy and homey-feeling and the CAT IS SUPER CUTE, to future guests reading this, it loves chin scratches :”) location wise was okay, the walk in was not too bad, we did go out for sunrise and late at night, 10-15 mins walk downhill to reach swiss garden area for 7eleven/some food options. the uphill walk is quite tiring, will recommend taking a bus all the up and make your way down for activities.
the only thing was that we didnt get to stargaze at night as it was too cloudy during our stay :( there are flies in qing jing so make sure to keep the insect netting closed! lovely owners/staff!"

"The facilities are new, the room is spacious, the vegetarian breakfast is delicious and plentiful, the bathtub is large, and the lake-view room offers a great view. The front desk and restaurant staff are very friendly.
After a bath, the sound of the bathtub draining was very sharp and uncomfortable.
In room 808, where I stayed, the toilet paper holder was in an awkward position, making it uncomfortable to pull. The emergency button didn't have English instructions, and my foreign friend almost pressed it by mistake. The font on the telephone instructions was very small and not clear enough."

They have supported me to get to one of the old tea farm which needs special transportation arrangement by arranging a very attentive and helpful driver.
They are located at a peaceful quintet location which is about 15 min walk from Suishe visitor centre also nearby secret small water area where fireflies appears at night of spring season.
They have a free bicycle service too so I could also fully enjoy both cycling and morning walk to see sunrise at a quiet wooden boardwalk.
I would like to come back at the next firefly season.

Guest UserAs with the other reviews, the service here is amazing. You have the option to have your breakfast delivered to your room. During check-in, the staff will personally bring you to your room. If you arrived early or plan to leave sun moon lake much later after check out, you can leave your bags or luggage to the staff to keep. Staff here also offers tickets to the ferry, bicycle rental, cable car and other services available. The only con is that there is no lakeview, but everything else is very accessible. Bus station, Ferry station, 7-11 and restaurants are just a few minutes walk from the hotel. As for the room itself, the toilet is equipped with bidet. There's also some snacks and teabags for you. Electric mosquito repellent is also available if there's a need to, but I did not encounter any bugs in the room. Room is also modernly designed and most importantly, clean and bugs-free! Bed is of soft and comfortable type. I nearly dozed off while lying on bed. Wifi's strong as well. Would highly recommend to others who plans to visit sun moon lake. This hotel has almost everything you need, convenience, amazing service, and good food.

This is our first time staying in a high class hotel.
It certainly felt luxurious, wonderful rooms and excellent service. The attentivness of the staff was fantastic and the buffet in the Crimson Restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was fantastic many many options all of which were high quality, fresh and tasty!
The gym for a luxurious hotel was a let down, incredibly basic, but that is my only complaint.
The onson baths were magnificent, the naked hot spring onson on site was nice,
The views from every room as far as I cab tell are amazing the lake is and landscape is breathtaking and the hotel is cleverly designed to maximise this and the viewing of the landscapes.
We stayed in a japanese based room with tatami floors and futon beds.
The lake view rooms are significantly nicer and upon reflection I wish I had booked that one, but the japanese rooms was still a great experience and very comfortable.
If we were to return to sunmoon we would gladly stay here again.
The real highlights are the staff, the landscape/views and the buffet.
All make for an unforgettable stay.

ArtLLocation is super convenient, barely 50m from the 7-eleven and SML's Nantou Bus Ticketing counter where Nantou Bus 6670 from Taichung drop passengers. The ground floor of the B&B is a elegantly decorated tea-shop and had a pleasant whiff of red-dates chinese tea, very welcoming on a hot day. Our room was nicely renovated, very cosy and clean, well laid out, with Taiwan cable channels and Youtube smart TV box. It has modern toilet fittings and very refreshing lightly scented shampoo and body wash in dispensers. The lady at the counter (小芸) was absolutely helpful. She sold us discounted ferry tickets compared to buying from the counters at the pier, explained activities to do and places to visit and boat/bus routes around SML when we arrived and gave us a WhatsApp to contact her for any queries. She also advised us to visit Itashao to taste the street foods for lunch and recommend places for dinner through WhatsApp after returning to Shiushe without pushing us to visit the restaurants nor buy tea from the shop. Truly warm ********* hospitality and the best part of staying in this B&B.

The building uses H-steel construction, though the exterior decoration doesn't give that away. The building materials are quite good. The interior decoration is definitely 5-star quality. Most of the main equipment is made in China, and the quality is very high standard.
The bidet toilet (JOMOW), shower facilities, audio system (Edifier M230), and room power control device, though made in China, are all of impeccable quality.
Overall, about 80-90% of the room's building materials are from China, which shows that Chinese building materials still have a certain level of competitiveness.
The stay offered a comfort level of 9.9/10!
Occasionally, there are sheep grazing on the hillside below.
Hotpot is available for dinner, and there are live singers on weekends, which creates a great atmosphere.
Breakfast is Chinese style, with congee served with various Chinese breakfast items, toast, fruit, eggs, and high-mountain cabbage. Beverages include coffee, soy milk, and red bean milk, among others (no Western breakfast options).
It's understandable that there might be some common insects and flies in the dining area.

The hotel is ok but the room is big. The restaurant in the hotel is a must try. My daughter LOVEs every dishes she ordered. She said, this is the best food she had in Taiwan, so we had two dinners at the hotel. The location of the hotel is not great! We couldn’t get into the local buses to go to Xitou nor to Taichung because the buses were full from the original starting point. However, the hotel offers fare shuttle service to and from Xitou but not Shanlinxi. The front desk lady drove us to Xitou, she was GREAT and very accommodating, she took us to Xitou bus station outside of the normal schedule hours so we can catch the bus back to Taichung. We would come back again with our car to get to different areas in Xitou again.

Great property, less than 5 min walk from the bus terminal. Well appointed room, very clean and great water pressure in the shower. Restaurant in the basement serves some good chinese food with al fresco sitting in front of the lake. Good breakfast is also served in the same restaurant. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. They also provide good discounted tickets for some of the activities like the boat ride, gondola and round the lake shuttle bus. We really loved our stay there.

A well equipped hotel in a quiet spot in town. Conveniently located off the main road with a great buffet breakfast and dinner. Service was great.
The upkeep of rooms could have been a little better as some amenities were a little worn, such as the carpet and console. Loved the onsen water in the bathtub.
The children appreciated the complementary jelly cups and cookies left for us each day.

The hotel is considerably cheaper than others in the area with similar-looking rooms and it is brilliantly-located right at the lakefront and only 2 minutes away from the bus terminal.
The staff is very friendly and you even get a discount voucher for the nearby bike rental.
I booked a room without a window and got one with two windows which is absolutely appreciated. I even had a very large bathroom with a gorgeous and huge bathtub which was an unexpected luxury.
Overall the room is clean and comfortable. The AC works perfectly, the bed is comfortable enough for a few days, and the the linen and towels were fresh.
The interior is dated which didn't bother me me much because it was still as clean as dated interior can get and therefore definitely clean enough for me and for most travellers. I actually kinda liked the old charme.
The walls are thin, though it doesn't matter so much because there aren't many rooms per floor.
The breakfast was surprisingly nice and located in another hotel right at the lakefront so that you have stunning views!
