Extremely warm welcome from Benoit to this spacious and comfortable house right opposite the Menin Gate in the centre of the town. The house is filled with memorabilia from the First World War. We were very pleased to join Benoit for the moving last post ceremony at the gate.

As a family of 5, 3 adult sons, we had an amazing time at Menin Gate Houses. We actually stayed in both as decided to spend another night in Ypres so moved into house 2. Cannot fault the accommodation, the location, and especially Benoit, the host. Our stay coincided with a very difficult time for him, yet he was attentive and provided us with an experience at the Last Post ceremony we will never forget.

Het Menin Gate House ligt werkelijk op een steenworp afstand van de beroemde Menenpoort. Wij verbleven er met zijn zessen en dat beviel goed. Het huis heeft drie comfortabele slaapkamers, een ruime bakkamer, een fijn woonkamer met keuken. Het is daadwerkelijk een huis waar je je direct thuis voelt. Ideale locatie ook om alle plekken rondom Ieper te bezoeken. Eigenaar Benoit is erg vriendelijk en heeft zeer goede tips over de Westhoek. Het huis is bijna een museum met historische foto's en posters aan de muur. Ook een ideale plek om met vrienden te verblijven in een huiselijke sfeer, maar toch je privacy te hebben op je eigen kamer.

A stones throw from the Menin Gate and full of interesting photographs and artefacts beautifully laid out over three floors.Greeted on arrival by Benoir who pointed out local landmarks that we would not have known without his knowledge.

Ypres Visit
An Excellent apartment in an ideal location for Ypres town centre just a five minutes walk from Cloth Hall and restaurants. A Lovely owner who was very helpful in making the evening Menin Gate ceremony an unforgettable experience.

A fantastic home and host
We had the most enjoyable stay in Ypres in this beautiful home. The host was fantastic and so helpful. We were so grateful to be invited to be part of the Menin Gate ceremony marking the 96th year of the sounding of the last post, a memory that will stay with us forever.

Perfectly located and everything in the house is of the highest standard. The historic articles, art and books in the property are unique. Ben was a wonderful host, very knowledgeable of the history of the area and very attentive. So much to see and take in within the town or short drives away. We would definitely come again.
