We were very disappointed when we arrived at temperature of almost 38deg C in the evening to the lodge that they had no fan in any room. Though other hotels we stayed during our Zimbabwe trip had AC particularly to sleep after hot day excursions. How can you list a hotel who do not even provide a fan, not even a pedestal fan for the night. The 2 rooms we booked for the family were a nightmare experience for all of us as none of us could sleep. We had a rat in one the rooms which made my daughters scare the whole night. There was no provision of water in the room, and had to be bought from the bar which closed at 9 pm.
I will not recommend anyone to go near this lodge and recommend TRIP.com and other booking sites to delete this from their website

What a wonderful place to stay. The staff were super friendly and service excellence was shown at all times. Only remark I want to leave is that a kettle in the lodge would be nice.

From the beginning, we decided to spend two nights at the resort in order to give us sufficient time to do a full-day game drive, organised through the resort, and have time to unwind. Breakfast and dinner were excellent and not the traditional food you always get in all the other hotels. It had a local flair and the taste was great. We booked the deluxe rooms which I can recommend. On requests, we received fans for our rooms. It was great to escape the summer heat and relax at the swimming pool which is located on top of the bar. The resort is definitely a place to stay in Zimbabwe.

During our 2-night stay as a couple at the end of November 2024, we had a bad experience at this lodge, particularly concerning the safari offered on site. The LODGE was DESERTED (no other guests except us in the twenty rooms), which gives the very gloomy impression of a ghost hotel, with a lot of staff, who are therefore unoccupied, watching you and sometimes a little oppressive (to order the meal in advance, clear away, etc.). The food, the setting and the rooms are, on the other hand, very correct. But above all, we were extremely DISAPPOINTED BY THE SAFARI offered for the day with a young, kind but inexperienced guide (who did not leave the area he usually visits in high season when there were clearly no animals, served us lunch at 10:30 a.m. ...), whose vehicle broke down several times during the day and was charged at full price (no low season rate) clearly knowing that the season was not right for it. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the hotel once we got back and the team simply smiled as if they were not surprised and never tried to make up for the situation in any way. We had the very unpleasant feeling of being taken for pigeons / BEING DUMPED during this stay. Including from the manager of the establishment who was not on site, to whom we sent an email of dissatisfaction and who did not seek to explain these hiccups, nor make a gesture to compensate for this very bad experience.

Where do I start?! We stayed for 4 nights and it was just amazing. Every single person was so lovely and kind. Seeing elephants drink from the pool is something I'll remember for the rest of my life. Mahko took us on 3 game drives and his knowledge of the park and the animals is on another level, he's an asset to the lodge. The only negative I have is that we couldn't stay longer than 4 nights. I honestly considered feeding my passport to the elephants so I could stay. The lodges were spacious and lovely, beds so comfy. House keeping come in daily with fresh towels and to make the bed. The managers of the resort were also lovely people, so friendly and welcoming. I fell in love with hwange and without a doubt we will be back. If I could give it 10 stars I would.. I'd live there if I could! I thoroughly enjoyed being stuck at the bar because elephants were blocking the way to our room! Also, chef and the food are top notch too. I honestly can't speak highly enough of the place.

great place to see elephants
Rooms are nice and are well appointed and staff very friendly.
Limited menu for meals but the chef was great to work with on suggestions.
Elephants come to drink from the water hole and the pool.

Très belles chambres, bon restaurant.
Il manquait juste du chauffage (nous étions en hiver austral avec des nuits à 4/5°...).
