VValue CreatorLocation was easy to find and accessible to mostly places. Appreciate the clean bedding and towel. Room was spacious enough and had sufficient luggage storage spaces. There’s a large & cosy co-study/working/living space with billiard tables and projector screen. Sleeping areas are pretty secured with keycards so one can be less concerned with external entry. There is a kitchenette that allows guests to store their food in big fridges and sufficient amenities like microwaves and toasters. It’s a pity that some guests are not responsible in washing up after use. The hot water dispenser wasn’t working for the few days I was there so many guests heated drinking water with the microwave. Possible improvements: I wish a hostel with such high turnover could consider to provide shared shampoo and soap in the showers, and have a machine that sells washing detergent pods. Definitely would help to reduce loads of single-use disposable waste.

GGuest UserThe thought of staying in prison is usually nothing you would enjoy. Well, we did enjoy our stay at the YHA a lot. We slept in a cell and due to the fact it's a heritage building, they can't install ACs in there, so it was warm at night, with day temperatures of 45 degrees. The fan did not really cool the room down, yet it was fine. We knew what we booked and that it can be hot in February. There are plenty of bathrooms all over the hostel, so you always find a shower or a toilette. The kitchen is spacious and clean. Of course, there are dirty dishes, but let's be honest: most of the guests are adults and should be capable of cleaning their dishes and clean up their mess. It's not the job of the staff to do this. The YHA has a nice, big garden, a big community area (inside) and a community area outside. It was very quiet at night, perfect for anybody, who needs some sleep. The staff was always very friendly and helpful and made our stay even better. It's located right next to Fremantle Prison and less than a five minutes walk from Fremantle market.

889440164Excellent location for travellers. Nice staff. Make sure you tell them if you plan to arrive after 6 pm. Large room with mini kitchen (microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, cutlery, dishes). Laundry on site. Nice bathroom with roomy shower. Lots of storage plus a safe. Clean modern decor. Close to airport (taxi about $40 but you could use public transport) and there is a bus to Perth city centre right outside (takes about 30 minutes). Lots of local shops and restaurants. If you’re travelling with a rented vehicle and you have been on the red dirt roads there is an expensive car wash next door and a cheaper one just up the road. We stayed here at the start and end of our Western Australia camping trip and it was perfect.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is close to the airport and has convenient transportation. The hotel room is large. Unfortunately, the toilet and bathroom are very small. In addition, the bed sheets and bath towels have one or two long hairs, which is not very hygienic.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this hotel for 6 nights while on holiday in Perth. The location of this hotel is excellent, walking distance to shopping street and a large parking lot which is really a huge advantage. The hotel is located by the river so the view is good. The hotel is also very close to the Besworth taxi company. There is a supermarket in front of the car rental company that sells halal chicken. The room in the hotel was very clean, but for a few days our room was not cleaned. Also note that this hotel does not have an elevator. The reception staff at the hotel are very amiable and knowledgeable. They also booked a taxi service for us to travel.

JJosephine YowLocation was great! Short 10min drive to frementle. Many supermarkets and eateries in the vicinity too. Room was no frills but sufficient for us, just that the freezer wasn't cold enough. We also appreciate the simple breakfast prepared by the staff. Had a great stay all in all :)

GGuest UserIn March 2012, I booked a single room for 3 nights through the ”Hotel World” website. I found this hotel without any effort, the check-in was super fast, the staff was very friendly (at least in March 2012). My room was large, with comfortable beds and windows facing the main street. Every time I go out and close the door, the door will make a sound with the ground. It feels very interesting and not annoying. Although the front desk can buy wireless network, I still use free wireless, which is provided by the Perth government. The bathroom is very clean. I liked the location of this hotel, close to many restaurants, there are bars nearby, places to skip disco. Because my return flight back to Singapore was very early, I had to use Perth Airport shuttle. Service was reliable and priced (convenient booking). I recommend Britannia and Perth Airport shuttle.

GGuest UserI booked this hostel for 3 nights and I stayed for 3 months. It's definitely the THE BEST HOSTEL IN PERTH ! the staff is amazing, so nice, so caring, so friendly, and so helpful! Charlie, the owner, even helps travelers to find jobs and is always making arrangements to satisfy everyone. This place is like home. The bathrooms, Kitchen, and Common area are always clean! It's 100% what I expected to find in a hostel and the people I met there are now real friends. I miss this place already and I can't wait to come back after doing my 88 days. I would recommend it 10 000x if you want a real hostel life experience! thanks the shiralee team, you made y stay in Perth way better!

GGuest UserWe stayed for a week as my son was visiting the University. My husband had stayed for six weeks when first arriving in WA, so had some insight. However, we ended up paying double what he did. The room was really tired, and had an adjoining door to our neighbours room (locked, but she was really sick and coughing the whole time we were there). As a result, it was really difficult to sleep, and the day before I left, I came down with the same symptoms she did. Not necessarily the hotels fault, but frustrating as I ended up sick for two weeks after leaving with the same symptoms as neighbour. Upside: close to the city (within walking distance), easy booking, easy check in. A lot of Uber Eats options available within close proximity. Also easy access to arterial route’s around the city. Downside: trip advisor pictures out of date (no pool), rooms are really tired, bathrooms even more so. Washing up has to be done in the bathroom. Rooms cleaned only once during eight day stays. Rooms adjoined to others have little to no privacy as you can hear literally everything. Parking can be challenging (we were there the weekend the Freo’s were at playing and were unable to park in the hotel car park at all). Had microwave but no cooker, so ended up buying ourselves a sandwich press for breakfast and lunches.
