Raven Hotel by Greene King Inns

Will never stay here again, you shouldn’t either There was no one at reception on arrival, sign on desk saying to call a mobile number. Hotel felt very unsafe, seen someone at reception twice in the morning however no one there in the evening or at night, had to go out to my car to get something around 11pm and door wide open with no one at reception meaning anyone could just walk in off the street. Asked a girl in the restaurant if they did takeaway food which could be eaten in room, was told no which is fine but was looked at like I had horns growing out my head for asking the question. After checking out hotel worker came out to my car to tell me there was an additional charge to be paid but could not tell me what it was for, I didn’t eat at the hotel at any point so didn’t pay the extra charge. The room had multiple marks on the wall including a dead bug smushed in, bathroom was very unclean! Floor needed a good wash and the bath tap and shower head was disgusting. Went down to reception on my way back out a little while after checking in to complain but no one was there. Thankfully bedding was clean otherwise I would have moved rooms or left hotel completely. Room was roasting with no air con. Whole hotel needs refurbished and a locking system on the entrance to make guests safer is no one is going to work at reception at all times. Only good thing about hotel was easy parking.

Went for Sunday lunch. Nobody eating when we arrived and still empty when we left. Sent our first meal back because of undercooked vegetables including the cauliflower cheese. Yorkshire puddings were tough and the beef was not pink as advertised. Staff were accommodating but the food was disappointing. This is the second bad Sunday lunch in a Green King pub both with poorly cooked vegetables. Won't be going again. Not cheap either. Wish we had spent the money elsewhere.

Fantastic stay; great service, amazing food and rooms were clean and tidy on arrival. Had a wonderful weekend trip away, stayed for 3 nights and all of them were fantastic. Would definitely come back if I am ever visiting the area again for sure 👍

Called up to inquire about a future stay, spoke to summer on reception and she was really helpful in all my questions asked, she seemed happy and very polite and professional.

I rang searching for booking a room for a date night and I spoke to a lady called summer who was very helpful and resourceful she is a great asset of the team! Thank you for everything summer!
