The hotel has a very good location where you can walk down to the nanjing street. There are many local restaurants around the hotel. To get a taxi from didi is confusing for us from the beginning as we can’t find the pickup point under the hotel name. Recommend to put Grand Mercure as a pickup point and the taxi will pick you up right in front of the hotel lobby. The room we got is very spacious and clean. Only some days we smell of cigarettes a lot from other guests room who leave their room’s door open. Overall, I’m happy with the hotel and enjoy the trip so much.

The view is the best thing about this hotel.
Location is 10 mins walk to the Bund and Nanjing street. Breakfast spread is ok but not so good. The bed and pillow is quite comfortable but the air condition constantly make weird noises. The stained carpet is unpleasant. Hand shower is broken and was just simply taped instead of replacing a new one

The location is excellent, just a short walk to Yu Yuan, and the room itself was comfortable, though some areas of the hotel, especially the front of the hotel entrance, feel a bit dated.
Check-in was the main downside. We arrived at 5:30 PM but were told all the rooms weren’t ready, and despite requesting same floor rooms in advance, it took quite awhile to arrange 1 room for us. Even after returning from dinner, 10PM the front desk service felt a bit overwhelmed and inattentive, not sure if this is because of summer school break.
Overall, this hotel works for a short stay if you don’t mind some waiting at check-in. For families with kids or those expecting seamless service, it may not be the best fit but for travelers who prioritize location, it’s still worth considering.

I had a truly wonderful stay at 璞晶唯庭酒店(上海人民广场新闸路地铁站店). The location is excellent—just steps away from the metro and within easy reach of Shanghai’s main attractions. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and very comfortable, making it a perfect choice for both business and leisure travelers.
A special thank you to the front desk staff for their warm hospitality and professionalism. He went above and beyond to accommodate my change of plans and kindly offered me an upgrade to a larger room, which made my stay even more enjoyable. Their attentiveness and service really stood out and made me feel valued as a guest.
The upgraded room was spacious, well-designed, and quiet, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Everything from the bedding to the amenities was thoughtfully prepared and maintained to a high standard. The hotel also provides convenient laundry services, which made my stay hassle-free, and the gym was well-equipped—perfect for keeping up with fitness while traveling.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its convenience, comfort, and outstanding service. I will definitely return on my next trip to Shanghai! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This hotel has a really interesting style which makes a nice change from all the cookie-cutter 5star chain hotels. The location is pretty amazing, next door to the Bund, metro lines 10 and 14 and Yu Garden. Our room had a great view over the river and looking towards the light show on the Pudong side. Breakfast was good. While the western breakfast was extensive perhaps the Chinese selection could have a bigger selection? We were really happy that we picked this hotel and definitely recommend it.

GGuest User🌟 Our stay at Chuxin Moshe Hotel was amazing! I highly recommend this Hotel, especially if you plan to go to Disneyland. I will describe our whole experience here:
None of the hotel staff spoke English, but they use translations apps and they are very helpful. Any questions we had they answered.
🛏 Room: Bed was big and comfy. I am very tall but that wasn't an issue. We also had in our room a Dyson like hair dryer (very good and powerful), shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, flip-flops and bottles of water (restocked daily). ”TV” was a cinema like projector to the wall. I could not make it work because I could not find the settings to switch to English language haha 😅
We also had AC and humidifier - much needed in this weather.
The walls are thin, and not very good soundproff.
The room was clean!
🍜🥮 Food: Breakfast was delicious! There were many options, mostly asian food. Rice, noodles, fried eggs, boiled eggs, fruits, baked pumpkin, moon cake and many more. See attached pictures.
⭐️ Amenities:
- 🚌 You need to go to Disneyland ? Just ask the front desk. They provide rides to and from Disneyland for FREE! All you have to do is to drop a message on the WeChat group with the timeslot + number of people and driver Lee will pick you up.
- 💆♂️💺 Tired after Disneyland? You can use massage chairs for FREE at the lobby.
- 👕🧺 You end up changing 2-3 shirts a day because you did not realize how hot and humid Shanghai is? The hotel provides FREE laundry and drying machines!
- ☕️🫖 FREE coffee, tea and ”sour plums soup” (very good, I recommend it) can be found at the hotel lobby too.
📌 Location: The Hotel is located in an not so tourist area. None of the people there speak english, and you will be the only foreigner when walking down the street. We went for jogging in the neighborhood everyday. We felt safe. You can find local restaurants and local markets/shops selling all sort of crazy stuff. It was very interesting to see the local life, not only the tourist side of the city.
🛬🛫Airport: the Hotel offers FREE rides to and from the airport! It goes every 2 hours. You just have to inform the front desk one day in advance. Initially we decided to go by ourself and we took a random taxi from the airport (❌️ this was a mistake, I don't recommend you to do it, unless you speak mandarin). The taxi driver took 3 longer turns and when we arrived he tried to scam us to pay 465 yuan for a 60 yuan ride (I checked the prices before on Amap app). I started arguing with the driver who did not speak english in the hotel parking area. Hotel staff was prompt and immediately came to my help trying to understand the situation. When they realized what was happening, in about 2-3 min around 5-6 hotel staff members were there defending us and arguing with the scamer taxi driver. They picked up our luggage from the back of the car and helped us settle the dispute using translation apps. 🙏Big thanks to them! We felt very welcomed and safe!
Other services that were provided by the hotel but we did NOT use:
- 👗👢costume rentals (princesses, cowboys, etc), mostly for kids. I guess it is more convenient to rent a costume rather than to buy one for a kid that will outgrow the costume by the next year...
-💄 proffesional make-up
- 🗣 tour guides - only for mandarin speaking I think
❤️🙏 In the end we want to say a big thank-you to Xiao Ran and all the employees there who helped us a lot during our stay. The hotel is great and the employees attitude and willingness to help is amazing 👏.
💡Other tips:
- 🇨🇳 in China: you need Alipay and WeChat apps in order to pay / communicate and Amap to check map and local transportation.
- 🏰 in Shanghai Disney Resort: get the Magic Disney Passport (around 80 yuan) and try to complete it in the first day. It is a nice ”tour” like experience of the whole park.
- ☀️ weather in October - it's hot, very, very hot 🔥 🥵
GGuest UserGreat experience. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious and hotel’s location was perfect for exploring the city
CcoaltrollMore than worth the price especially considering the location. In terms of rooms what you see is what you get. I didn't ask for many services but the staff seemed extremely nice and respectful, I don't doubt they'd do the best they can. The only concern is thin walls so it's easy to hear others and for others to hear you but considering the price and location I'm surprised that's the only complaint. Surprising thing to say but the toilets are also amazing, nice view, seat heating, bidet, often cleaned and replenished toilet paper, etc etc. Very nice I'll definitely come here next time I'm in Shanghai.
RR41FIIt's a cute accommodation. A place where Chinese history rests and I felt it every time when an older Chinese man passed me by in the corridor. The smell of old school freshness coming from ultra fine shaven skin. Maybe a little lost and confused about how times changes and what globalization causes, for some of us. Us, because for me as a true globalist, times preciously still breathes. Tradition, it gushes out of the walls of this accommodation. The warm greetings from the ”old establishment” made me feel like home. It made me realize that the inner soul is open for the new ones, the anti-separatist and anti-segregates.
There are, unfortunately and comparing to other areas of Shanghai where I've bene, also Europeans. I didn't see them in other areas except in Pudong. They made me feel not welcome. They made me feel as if ”home” would always hunt me down and tried to make me feel like one of the undesirables. It made some employees left a bit confused. ”What should I do?” handle it like a pro, and that's exactly what they managed to do. From stepping into the entrance all the way up to my room. It felt warm, it even cooled down the scattering heat from outside. Sometimes they left the door open. As if they wanted to make everyone feel comfortable. The cool air approaching me when I was nearly at ”home”. And at the end, it really did make me feel very desired. As if everyone on this planet counts.
Every time when I opened the door of my room, I felt an even cooler welcome pulling me in to work even harder on my projects. The ”older” furniture, the warmth coming from the wood entering my soul, combined with the cool enough A/C, and the little bit noisy traffic made me realize how Shanghai was built upon and by who. I feel proud of the establishment of Shanghai as a whole. An energetic city, but it will always remain the traditions what made the city big. The sound of the oversized vessels slowly finding their way out of the business and gently flow away into a nothingness of blue waves, thriven what will make the city even bigger as it already is.
The somewhat older flatscreen television on the wall is still hanging proudly in its socket. Showing where the new digital era started. I didn't use the television. I always leave them for what they are, but this one attracted my attention. Shall I open it? No, I'm in Shanghai and there's way too many good things to do, instead of washing my brains. It left it as it was, because I didn't want to ruin the warm feeling that I felt.
Okay, back to work, because productivity is waiting. Ready for new creations. Nothing is perfect and there was a minor misunderstanding, but I will never forget to realize that the negative Latin European impulses where there. The oil that makes fire burn harder on a warm plate. Back to where I am and that's not in propaganda machine Latin Europe. I'm in pretty Shanghai. Pleasantly warm outside, because that's what Shanghai is. Little bit sweaty outside, but nice and chilling indoors.
The food in the area. I'm incredibly addicted to the spicy Chinese food. It makes me as happy as if I'm high as a kite floating around on green stuff we smoke in Europe. It also was the only moment when I realized what the reason was for me to touch that green stuff which only messes up my lungs and a little bit of my mental health. But that was already a bit messed up.
And the staff, they saw it. Some of them tried to acknowledge me that they saw something. That they realized I carried a lot on my back instead of two backpacks. And the made me realize that it's over and out. I left Europe for what it is. And when I look back on them, I will always look down. With my nose risen high into the sky. Thank you so much for this personal experience to the staff of this lovely accommodation.
And trip.com, you're even more than fabulous.
GGuest UserLocation wise, it is perfect. Walk 10 minutes and you found the IAPM high end mall. Also so many food choices! The street next to this hotel have michelin bib gourmand Scallion Noodles place. So convinient. Room wise, it is enough for us. The toothbrush is soft and I have a crazy good night sleep here. The robot for food is also cute! Staffs are helpful. I asked them to keep my huge bags for 2 nights and they were super accomodating. They also help me with my ******* (food delivery app)! Everyone works hard and it shows, even the cleaning ladies.
Kkyle&SunWe recently stayed at The Ritz-Carlton in Shanghai, and it was truly a memorable experience. The hotel exudes a sense of tradition and timeless elegance, and the view from our room was absolutely breathtaking — beyond words, really. I can confidently say it was the best view we've seen among all the hotels in Shanghai.
From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with genuine smiles and warm hospitality. The level of service throughout our stay was truly outstanding. Check-in and check-out were both quick and seamless, which we greatly appreciated after a long journey.
Although the building itself shows a bit of age, everything else more than made up for it. The room was immaculately clean, with the furniture and flooring well maintained and neatly arranged. We also appreciated the thoughtful welcome letter and fresh fruit, which added a personal touch and made us feel truly valued as guests.
The breakfast venue offered not only excellent food but also a stunning view, making every morning feel special. The service at breakfast was also consistently attentive and professional.
While the swimming pool was a bit on the smaller side, my husband still enjoyed it during the short time he was able to use it. Once again, the staff there were helpful and courteous, ensuring a pleasant experience.
If I had to mention one minor downside, it would be the slightly dated feel of the building itself. However, the incredible view, exceptional service, and overall atmosphere far outweighed that detail.
Overall, I would confidently rate our stay as 9 out of 10. I would absolutely love to return on our next trip to Shanghai. Thank you to the entire team at The Ritz-Carlton for a truly wonderful stay, thanks ❤️
PPandy016I communicated our pick up needs to hotel at regular intervals and keot them updated about our flight. Advised would be arriving a little early due to flight. Was told to call after landing - no answer. Tried messaging on we chat took a while for response. No clear directions. So arrived at exit after clearing customs and collecting bags. Then told to go back upstairs to gate 3 departures. Waited out there for a long time. Over half an hour. Many other hotels collected people with many others coming and going while we waited. One hotel had 3 vehicles with their name on it pick up patrons in the time we were standing there. I can now see why we were the only ones going to Novotel. Clearly the driver did not leave the hotel after long after we advised we had arrived. When he did turn up in a rundown silver van with no name on it. He drove like a mad man and dangerously. He think he was trying to make up for time. He was rather rude when he dropped us off, not a word from him. Check in experience was no better. Two girls on reception were talking **** about us - yes I had my translator on after explaining our check in details to them. Very poor service and actually unprofessional behaviour. Room service had finished so we weren't able to get anything to eat. Did not feel able nor did I want to speak with front desk again to ask for assistance in ordering some food. Only staff that was friendly or even acknowledged us was the lovely cleaning lady on our floor the following morning. Breakfast was okay. Laundry was a mess from another lady who pulled out all her washing dripping wet and made a huge puddle on the floor. If there had been a towel I would have cleaned up her mess! We wish we had gone straight to the hotel we had originally planned to but opted for the Novotel due to close proximity to airport for our late flight back into Shanghai. We would have been better off going straight to the original hotel over an hour away. I believe we still would have arrived earlier. We have stayed at Novotel Auckland Airport in New Zealand a few times and the service is impeccable. Unfortunately Novotel Shanghai Pudong Chuansha is not a good representation of the Novotel brand. Also considering this an airport hotel with many tourists likely utilizing it - very few things have English translation including the vending machine. The hotel building itself is nice and the only positive. Won't be back - step up your game. I usually do rave reviews and very rarely do negative unless warranted.
GGuest UserThe location is fantastic! You can walk directly from the second-floor lounge to the riverside, and it's just a two-minute stroll to the ferry terminal. From there, you can catch a 2 RMB ferry to the other side of the river. Housekeeping was very attentive; for example, they replaced our child's bath towels after their afternoon soak while we were out for dinner. The only slight drawback was that you need to turn off the water supply to the bathtub before going to sleep, otherwise, the motor emits a low humming noise. Also, some floorboards seemed a bit warped, possibly from water exposure. Otherwise, everything else was quite good. We had originally planned to stay two nights at the tallest hotel across the river, but our child wasn't keen on it. This was mainly because we encountered a typhoon, and that particular building was often enveloped in clouds, completely obscuring the night view. So, we decided to extend our stay here for an additional two days. The rooftop Southeast Asian restaurant offers absolutely stunning views; however, the food itself isn't particularly good, so I'd highly recommend just going for drinks to enjoy the panorama.
223cruzOverall the lane house is decent set within a lively Shanghai Lane House experience. We lived in 2 for 2 months when we first moved to Shanghai. This was our return trip to revisit our home of 4 yrs. The initial photos for Guisu Homestay with the charming window view doesn’t match the initial sell, but the detailed photos of the actual space does. However it’s smaller than it looks, as the top loft and kitchen counts within the measurement. So if you’re a family of 4 then this is perfect since the middle room will give you space to sit. But if you are 5 with the sofa permanently done up as a bed then it’s tight. All was good except the the shower doors were a little run down and shower was gunky and could use a little redo. All in all a good experience. The host was responsive to our needs but strict on the 12noon checkout. The neighborhood and overall location is unbeatable. Close to great food and served as our center base to revisit the French Concession from Jing An. Definitely a good place if this is your first time in Shanghai.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located ~ 400 m away from the shanghai railway station, not too far to walk but may be a difficult path if you walk with your luggage. I visited there around June. They were renovating the front area of the hotel so you need to encircle another hotel to get to Waiting hotel. Another problem is their internet wasnt working. Other than these problems, i would like to recommend this place. There’s elevator. Room is well furnished and has full needed amenities including refrigerator. Also their smart toilet has a bidet shower which is very nice for Asian (we’re very familiar with it). There’s also a daily room service.
