We haven't been so disappointed with a hotel in a long time. We chose it based on the principle of not being greedy, expecting to get a really high-quality boutique hotel for the $86/day we paid. In fact, we got a hotel of more than average quality, in not the best condition. The shower head was broken and splashed water in all directions (it looks like you just needed to tighten the screw on it tighter, but without a screwdriver you can't do it yourself). The walls are moldy in places. The breakfast is inexpressive, the menu changes little from day to day. The view from the window is of rusty roofs of neighboring houses right next to each other. There is only one elevator and the staff is constantly transporting something large on it. Well, and the most important thing: there is a solid construction site around the hotel now. All approaches have been dug up, an excavator is working, the sidewalks are being replaced (and no one even bothered to put boards on top of the dirty wet earth right in front of the entrance). Another house is being built right next to the hotel and this will clearly be for a long time. The noise and dust last all day. They completely ruined our stay.
