Not walking distance to hoedspruit proper, will require a paid shuttle. Would have prefer if a free shuttle can be provided by the hotel. Not ideal for visits to kruger national park as it is approx 2 hours to the park. Overall, would recommend as a overnight stop after visiting the panaroma route."

Initially, I was just drawn to the hotel's beautiful pictures, but its location was amazing. We often saw small animals strolling slowly past the fence, creating a very unique experience. (We were so comfortable we forgot to take more pictures, haha!) Breakfast and dinner were both delicious, with carefully prepared and thoughtful food. The staff were incredibly friendly and genuine, making us feel cared for rather than just being served. The hotel owner gave us many practical and insightful suggestions, which greatly helped with our itinerary. The overall price was very reasonable, offering excellent value for money. This is a place I'd definitely want to return to. Highly recommended!!!"

They were friendly, professional, and truly made us feel like VIPs throughout our stay. The rooms were stunning, beautifully designed, comfortable, and the perfect place to relax after each adventure. Every aspect of the lodge reflected luxury while still feeling warm and welcoming. The spa was another highlight of our trip. It was peaceful, quiet, and incredibly personalized. The treatments were fantastic, and we especially loved spending time enjoying the steam room, the refreshing cold plunge, and the amazing pool. It was the perfect way to unwind between safari drives. One of the most memorable moments of our stay was our final night. The staff surprised us with a private, personalized dinner that made for the perfect ending to an incredible trip. We had also made a special request for a Father's Day dessert, and they didn't hesitate for a second. They went above and beyond to make it happen, and the thoughtful gesture meant so much to our family. It perfectly reflected the exceptional hospitality and attention to detail that we experienced throughout our entire stay. We cannot recommend Kappama Safari enough. "Our safari experiences at Moditlo with Darryn (guide) and Enock (tracker) were excellent. Darryns expert knowledge and wildlife veterinarian skills provided us with an excellent insight into how the African wildlife is being managed and cared for at Moditlo and the challenges it's facing across Africa. On our first safari Darryn and Enock found some fresh lion tracks and left the vehicle to track them on foot to find their daytime resting location before driving us in to experience a wonderful up close and personal observation of a lion pride consisting of 2 females, 2 cubs and 2 teenage males grooming themselves ready for their evenings hunt with only our vehicle in their presence for over 20 minutes & about 4 to 5 metres distance from the pride. Darryn and Enoch repeated these types of safari experiences the following days which enabled us to get up close and personal with Cheetahs, Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, Giraffes, Zebras and many other animals, birds and reptiles within the Moditlo reserve. What a fantastic safari experience with great food and accommodation whilst staying at Moditlo River Lodge. Having also done a large park safari, the ability to be up close to the wildlife without lots of other vehicles around and being on the private reserve is part of the something special that Moditlo offers."

It’s a peaceful, beautiful property and we got a view of zebras and wildebeest during every meal. The staff is so friendly and helpful. It’s centrally located to the panorama route attractions, several beautiful hikes, a boat ride, and a wildlife rehabilitation centre (all worth visiting!). To top it all off, the food is AMAZING! "
