Marepe Mountain View

This is a fabulous lodge that provides a little bit of luxury in the wilderness. It's beautifully appointed, with the most fantastic views of the mountains. It's so quiet that you really feel relaxed just by being here. Standing outside and admiring the views is really wonderful. The villa website does point out that the road to the villa is not suitable for some vehicles - and having driven it, I can see why! However, I had a small SUV and if you take it slow, it's absolutely fine....and again, I would say part of the experience. The night I arrived there was a crazy storm the likes of which the locals had never seen before. That in itself was memorable! It's important to appreciate that while the weather is usually great, this is the mountains and weather does happen. I would say to embrace it and just enjoy the experience for what it is. The host is lovely and checked in regularly that everything was okay....making it clear I could contact her 24/7 if I needed anything. I really would recommend if you are looking to spend a few days "off grid" to just relax and embrace the local environment. I would highly recommend spending time at Blyde River Canyon and driving the Panorama Route. I will be back!

Amazing place. Everything you could need and more! The views are superb. Very private. Yvette is a great host and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of birdlife. Sunsets and sunrises are also very nice. Definitely recommended if you are in the area!

We had an really amazing time at Marepe mountain view, it was just wat we were looking for, the host is really sweet and helpful, the view is breathtaking and its super peaceful so high up in the mountains!!! Definitely worth a visit!!!!

We had an incredible stay at Marepe Mountain View Lodge in Kampersrus. The view from my spacious room overlooking the majestic Mariepskop mountain was absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The lodge offered everything I needed for a perfect getaway: a private plunge pool to cool off, an outdoor shower for a true nature experience, and a well-equipped barbecue area that made outdoor dining a joy. The accommodation is designed for self-catering, and I was amazed at the attention to detail – everything I needed was provided, all in luxurious, high-quality materials that added a touch of elegance. The owner, Yvette, was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with any questions. A special mention for her staff member, Difference, whose kindness and help made the experience even more memorable. We will definitely be coming back to this gem of a place!"
