Valmo’s Got Style—and So Does Tanja
Valmo Hotel is modern, comfy, and effortlessly cool—kind of like Tanja at the front desk. She made the stay smoother than Finnish vodka and twice as warm.
Great service, great vibe, and just enough Irish banter with Tanja to make me wonder if she might actually run away to Ireland one day. Here’s hoping!
Would 100% stay again—especially if Tanja’s still around to brighten the lobby

Brand new, clean, quiet. Bacon was missing from the breakfast, which is an essential part of the hotel breakfast. That's a minus.

The hotel is pretty new but it seems that some of the material choises are quite poor, it feels very run down already and there is some bacterial growth already in the spa and in the bathrooms. Good bed and blankets. For the price it is a good stay for one night.

The fact that it is about 30-40 minutes by tram or bus from the center of Helsinki is a bit of a downside, but it has sauna facilities, a satisfying breakfast, and well-designed interior with a focus on functionality, typical of Finland, so it is a place that can be recommended even to first-time visitors to Finland. The front desk staff are kind and will help you check in smoothly. Check-out can be done on your smartphone, just put the card in the box and go home. It was very smooth. You can use the WIFI without a password, and it's very fast.
