I stayed for just one night this time, so I chose a dorm. It was a pretty spacious and clean room, they have lockers for backpacks, and free breakfast. Everything's good and friendly staff.

Very comfortable and friendly. Good central location in old town. I particularly like the communal area with bean bags - it’s very comfortable. Staff are exceptional. In some dorm rooms you can hear street noise, but not all. They booked my bus to Halong Bay and have a laundry service. Great value and homely feel.

This time, I stayed in a 4-person dormitory for $7. There were curtains on the beds, lockers with locks, and individual power outlets, so safety and privacy were ensured. Breakfast was included, but it wasn't a buffet. You had to choose from a menu. I thought the rice noodles were the most delicious on the menu. The staff spoke good English, so I felt at ease.
