I recently called to make a reservation at your hotel, drawn by its elegant style, which aligns perfectly with what I’m looking for. During my call, I spoke with a front desk associate named Anna. While I appreciated her assistance, I was unexpectedly transferred to the reservations department due to her workload. Unfortunately, I felt that the tone of the interaction was less than professional, which left a negative impression. I believe that effective communication is crucial in the hospitality industry, and I hope this feedback can be used to enhance the experience for future guests.

Finally Halifax has an outstanding hotel which stands up to all the rest. After reading the reviews of Muir Hotel I was excited to give it a try on a recent business trip. It did not disappoint, and in my opinion is a destination in itself. The people working there are smart and kind, the accommodations comfortable and welcoming, and the location first rate. I also enjoyed the fitness facility and restaurant, five stars to all. It is more expensive than the local competition, and worth every penny.

Can’t say enough about this hotel. The location is perfect - located centrally on the new waterfront. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a great vide of the harbor - a wonderful place to retreat to. And the staff - from the desk clerks to the valet attendants and restaurant personnel — were all wonderful. I’d give it more stars if I could

Outstanding property with exceptional customer service. From the moment we walked in this beautiful hotel we were dazzled by the service. Room was gorgeous, full of those little extra amenities that are so appreciated (e.g.glasses cleaner, nespresso machine, etc) and outstanding view of the harbour. Courtney car was a lovely touch but so much to see, and do within a walk. Gym is first class and pool/ spa with salt room, cold plunge so bring a bathing suit. Will be back. Highly recommend.

This hotel is fantastic. The room was beautiful. Spacious, great views, immaculate. Beautiful bedclothes. The staff went out of their way to accommodate every need we had. Including extra towels in the bath! So polite and friendly! Would definitely stay there again.

The setting on the harbor, architecture and comfort in the room is a 10. The restaurant Drift also harbor side with a premier view of the promenade. Never a dull moment. I even got a selfie when the Prime Minister Trudeau paid a visit to the chocolatier next door. The Comfortable contemporary design and friendly staff are dedicated to your experience. The food is fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The breakfast menu has it all. Perfectly prepared poached eggs and crispy bacon. So you are wondering, why I didn’t I give the hotel 5 stars? The front desk staff, completely useless. They must have a huge staff turnover. Weeks of inquiry by myself and travel agent got us nowhere on local activities and bookings. In particular spa treatments. The spa in the same building is a treat, but the front desk staff can barely tell you where it is. I had to find my own around the hotel. I don’t think the staff have ever left the first floor. There is an impressive work out room. Pool with a cold plunge, somewhere in the building a mysterious speakeasy When I inquired, it was closed and no explanation. FYI, the courtesy car is only available until 9:15. I called at 9:20 and service was done for the day. You would think they would they might mention that as well. Enjoy the MUIR, just remember it is DYI

Stayed August 24, 2024. Such a beautiful hotel and super friendly staff. We were in room 324. Everything on the waterfront is within walking distance and fantastic shops! If you are looking for a high end weekend away this will not disappoint!

We spent 3 days here while travelling the East Coast. This hotel was spectacular. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed with Aesop toiletries. The bed was comfortable. The shower was extraordinary. You can close the door and get a steam!! Everything is very lux. Location is great with tons of incredible restaurants right there. The main hotel restaurant had great breakfast that was very well priced. The staff went above and beyond as well. Hats off, this does not feel like a chain hotel. I would say it is the top hotel in Nova Scotia and would give many hotels in the world a run for their money.

Terrific location in a high end hotel that made exploring Halifax in one day quite pleasant. It is right on the whark walk, with many nearby pubs like the Olde Triangle and Durty Nelly's (both have live music) and a 10 minute walk to the Citadel Fort. Highly recommend paying a little extra for the experience, decor and location.

The Muir is a fantastic hotel. Every detail of the decor is thoughtful. The location is great. The restaurant, Drift, is a gem. Comfy beds, great showers! Most of all, the staff is truly lovely and committed to making your stay comfortable and memorable. Such nice people!

We LOVED this hotel. Everything from the rooms to restaurants, gym are beautifully designed with the loveliest details. We had a beautiful view of the harbour and loved the location for walking along the Halifax waterfront. The hotel is located in a lovely square with upscale shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the fabulous gym, salt and steam room. This was a wonderful way to spend our couple of days in Halifax.

This is the best choice while in Halifax. The location, service and amenities are all 5 STAR. The property itself is gorgeous and sits right on the water in the center of the city, walkable to everything. The rooms are immaculate, well appointed and the beds are extremely comfortable. The service is self is above and beyond. Every single Employee, the front staff, Bell Staff, House Cleaning, Restaurant and Gym staff always have a smile and their face and ask you how you are. The Manager working at check in was Mr. Marwane and he worked diligently get us our Gold elite upgrade. Additionally the front desk Attendant Yulia was exceptionally helpful and friendly. This is absolutely the best place to stay while visiting Halifax!!

Good The location was excellent-- the best spot really. A close walk to everything! The staff was friendly. The room was beautiful. Bad The restaurant was painfully slow for breakfast-- over 45 minutes from the time we ordered pancakes and eggs. While the temperature outside was 22 degrees and sunny, in our room, with the air-conditioning on it was 26 degrees. Clearly the air-conditioning did not work well at all. The person who looked into the issue said they had multiple complaints because of their so called "heat wave" (I have no idea how a breezy 22 degree day is a heatwave but when in Halifax, I suppose it is). He blamed it on all of the windows in our room. Recommendations I would not recommend staying here in the summer because of the lousy air-conditioning but I would recommend staying here in any other season (trusting the heat works better than the air). With so many wonderful restaurants surrounding you, I would not recommend eating at their restaurant, Drift, either because of the painfully slow service. Overall the beds are comfortable, the amenities are lovely and the staff is friendly.

Beautiful hotel with great amenities but it is the amazing customer service that really puts it far above anywhere I’ve ever stayed. The friendly staff go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. We were there to celebrate my birthday and found a hand written birthday card and cake waiting upon our arrival. Housekeeping wrapped charging cords, cleaned and straightened the room and left the spray and the cloths to clean our glasses. There is a driver available to take you places and the hotel facilitated our sailing and spa activities. I can’t say enough about how great our long weekend was and I certainly hope to return!
