Disappointing for a 5-star hotel. Room was clean and comfortable - really spacious bathroom. Fitness center was large with lots of equipment. But service was mediocre. Check-in was slow and everyone just seemed alarmed to have to deal with a westerner (even though I am Chinese-speaking!) Smoking in the public areas and the lobby is huge and dated, few seats. It just doesn’t have the luxurious and welcoming feel of a good hotel! Just spent 3 weeks staying in guesthouse across Yunnan and we got much better welcome and service for a third of the price! Oh and the location is not great for tourists. The only redeeming feature is a huge slick mall a few blocks away.

Regardless of the position of the service staff, both boys and girls are good-looking. They may not have particularly beautiful faces, but you can feel that the hotel is tolerant of employees having their own tastes and styles, so everyone has a good aesthetic sense. We had one night stay in Kempinski. The hotel lobby was stunning with very nice designs. Our room was spacious and clean, the city views at night from the windows were just magnificent. The business lounge was on level 53 (top floor), which offered guests free afternoon tea, light dinner, and night drinks. Every staff member we met was very polite and friendly. Everything was great. The only issue was the room was hot. AC wasn't doing its job. Called front desk. They sent a tech to adjust AC and brought a portable fan. Was able to cool the room down to acceptable level but not as low as we liked. Great breakfast buffet. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants. Very friendly staff.
