The hotel is inside of the university and even taxi can not get in from the entrance. You need to walk outside of the university area. A lot of student and parents are staying. It was so so. But for sure not suitable for business trip.

Our stay at the Sun Yat-sen University Kaifeng Hotel in Guangzhou was enjoyable—until checkout. As I stood at the front desk, I noticed two receptionists engrossed in conversation, completely ignoring me. Then, a man walked up and cut in front of me, and one of the receptionists immediately assisted him without hesitation. Frustrated, I had no choice but to “rudely” step forward and insist on checking out. After completing the process, I walked away from the front desk, unaware that someone’s spilled water bottle had left the floor wet. The moment I stepped on the slick spot, I lost my balance and nearly fell. My heart pounded in shock. Just then, a cleaning lady approached and casually mentioned that she was about to clean it. But why wasn’t there a warning sign? Meanwhile, the hotel staff simply stood by, watching without taking any action. Their indifference and lack of professionalism were truly disappointing. Oh a four stars hotel !!

I was very lucky to book a river view room at the Scholar's House. The hotel is near the north gate of Sun Yat-sen University and is on campus. You can enter and exit the campus gate without reservation with your room card. The hotel facilities are very new and should have been updated and upgraded during the 100th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen University. Although it is not rated, it is very cost-effective and is not inferior to a 5-star hotel. I will stay at the Scholar's House again next time I come to Guangzhou.

This time I had a great experience staying at Zhongda Kaifeng Hotel! The room was clean and bright, the bedding was comfortable, and different pillows were thoughtfully prepared.
