Very few places have ever made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. We struggled as two of our party were stuck in traffic and the kitchen needed to close but the team couldn’t do enough to try and help us. Really quaint pub and restaurant and excellent food - but the service was exceptional. Thank you all so much.

We very much enjoyed our two night stay that included an amazing hike that started right out front of the Inn. Our room was lovely but a tad noisey as the Inn is right on the road. It quiets down at night. We had realfast and dinner on site and all were delicious! A cozy spot very easily reached without a car.

The location was brilliant for visiting in and around Grasmere, a few minutes walk away. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The room was cosy and had everything needed. Had evening meal and breakfast - both fantastic. Would highly recommend.

From the moment mine host welcomed us in to the pub and showed us to our pre booked table to the time we left it was excellent service all the way. The waiters were exceptionally smart, friendly and polite. We were spoilt for choice with the menu. There were several unusual items. My husband started with squid whilst I decided to save room for a dessert instead. My chosen main of burrata and peach with salad was not only beautifully presented, but tasted delicious as well, so many different ingredients, herbs, fruit.. Hubby loved his venison burger. I finished with rice pudding and damson compote, again beautifully presented and delicious. We visit the Lakes a couple of times a year so will definitely make a stop at the Travellers Rest on our next visit.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. There are so many positives it's hard to choose just a few. It's in a great location with stunning views all around, but only a 10/15 min walk into the centre of Grasmere. The staff are fantastic! So helpful and friendly and really make this place. Rooms are beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. We ate in the restaurant at night and both the food and service were fantastic at a reasonable price. All in all we loved our last minute stay here and will most definitely be returning. Shout out to the young gentleman who had just started working there, he was super helpful and his customer service was amazing!

Lovely Inn
Great little place for an overnight stop. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Room was compact, but clean and quiet.
