The location of this hotel is great. We arrived in the early hours but desk still manned so easy check-in. The room itself, clean, small, very very dark, couldn't seem to adjust a/c, bed comfy but no fridge or tea/coffee making facilities. Very basic. Staff friendly & helpful. Can't comment on b'fast or bar. Just a heads up about the taxi rank at end of street. We needed to go the train station but they (taxi drivers) were very reluctant to take us as only interested in airport runs!! Finally one took us but at an inflated price. Not good!!

Feel like I stayed at a different hotel to the other reviewers (or perhaps they paid heavily discounted rates!) This is an average 3 star hotel, but nothing more and (perhaps wrongly) I was expecting more. The main discomfort for me was that the hotel has a central A/C which cannot be controlled in each room, so I froze all week. Even my husband, who generally likes it cooler, admitted it was chilly! I've never stayed in a hotel where you cannot control the temperature of your own room - it seemed extremely odd. The shower pressure was very poor, which isn't great if you need to wash your hair. The shower basin was also a strange black plastic material which buckled when you stood on it, plus got super slippery. I guess it was meant to look cool, but I wouldn't want to use it as an older person or somebody with mobility issues. There was no rubbish bin in the room, only a very small one in the bathroom. The room seemed strangely empty - there was no mini fridge/mini bar, kettle or wardrobe/shelving. On the positive side: the bed was very comfortable and the hotel has a very convenient location right in the centre of town. The bartender also made extremely good cocktails, although he was completely overwhelmed and service took a while (management need to hire more bar staff!). The cleaning staff were also very friendly, although the receptionists were a bit of a mixed bag. I didn't have a terrible stay by any means, but I wouldn't return - mostly due to the air conditioning situation.
