James Place Inn Bed and Breakfast

The service was awesome. The beds were so comfortable- it felt like being in my own bed at home. That is how comfy it was! The breakfast was AMAZING! We had yogurt, fresh fruit, fantastic chocolate chip scones, and the most delectable french toast! It was the best food I had while in New England. Bill was so nice and funny- he made me laugh -Shea (age 11)

This is my third visit to James Place Inn. Beautiful accommodations, wonderful hosts, and one of the best breakfasts you'll have anywhere. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, and of course LL Bean!!

The Inn is lovely. Its small, with a friendly host and hostess, on a quiet side street and yet right in the heart of Freeport with its wonderful shopping and excellent selection of restaurants. All a very short walk away from the James Place Inn. No problem parking right near the entrance door. My room was on the first floor which was perfect for me! Right near the dining room so that I could go and make myself my first cup of tea and take it right back to my room and relax. Breakfast was delicious especially the amazing blueberry pancakes! My hosts would make a special treat for the day .Pumpkin scones with chocolate chips; next day, a large, moist and delicious gingery muffin. Both of these special treats were offered with a to-go bag so you could take it on your way. I found that to be extremely thoughtful. I liked this Inn so much I am already booking a return.

Bill and MaryAnne did a great job making us feel welcome. The room was very ice and breakfast was amazing (10/10)! The Inn had nice common room places or us to relax with a cup of coffee/tea. We will be back :)

We had a wonderful stay at the James Place Inn B&B. From our warm greeting upon arrival, to our beautifully decorated, comfortable, and very clean “Y” room, to our delicious full breakfast in the blueberry themed dining room, to the location within a short walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Many thanks to Bill and Lexi (along with others behind the scene, whom we didn’t meet) for making our stay so enjoyable. We look forward to our return in the future. Dana & Alison Salo

The James Place Inn was very charming and the hosts were friendly & welcoming. It was perfect for our one night's stay in Freeport. Although the inn is very close and walkable to the busy shopping area, the street was surprisingly quiet. We stayed in the blue room on the second floor. It was spacious, comfortable and impeccable. The bathroom is outfitted with a vintage tub and plenty of hot water. The only thing missing was a grab bar. We were happy to find a small shared refrigerator and icemaker as well as glassware in the upstairs hallway. The decor in the room and throughout the inn is lovely. We couldn't help but notice the furniture was locally made by Chilton's, quite impressive! Likewise, the dinnerware was from LL Bean's blueberry collection. Our breakfast was delicious and filling: homemade granola with fruit and yogurt, scrambled eggs, home fries, sausages and blueberry scones. Orange juice and coffee completed the meal. We were more than satisfied! We are glad we stayed at the James Place Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming place to stay.
