Perfect location on side street off main drag. Super cute and comfortable and clean room. Amazing breakfast - even including a couple of scones to go. Extremely friendly and nice owner and staff. Hundred percent recommend!!

We had a wonderful stay at the James Place Inn B&B. From our warm greeting upon arrival, to our beautifully decorated, comfortable, and very clean “Y” room, to our delicious full breakfast in the blueberry themed dining room, to the location within a short walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Many thanks to Bill and Lexi (along with others behind the scene, whom we didn’t meet) for making our stay so enjoyable. We look forward to our return in the future. Dana & Alison Salo

The James Place Inn was very charming and the hosts were friendly & welcoming. It was perfect for our one night's stay in Freeport. Although the inn is very close and walkable to the busy shopping area, the street was surprisingly quiet. We stayed in the blue room on the second floor. It was spacious, comfortable and impeccable. The bathroom is outfitted with a vintage tub and plenty of hot water. The only thing missing was a grab bar. We were happy to find a small shared refrigerator and icemaker as well as glassware in the upstairs hallway. The decor in the room and throughout the inn is lovely. We couldn't help but notice the furniture was locally made by Chilton's, quite impressive! Likewise, the dinnerware was from LL Bean's blueberry collection. Our breakfast was delicious and filling: homemade granola with fruit and yogurt, scrambled eggs, home fries, sausages and blueberry scones. Orange juice and coffee completed the meal. We were more than satisfied! We are glad we stayed at the James Place Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming place to stay.

This was our second visit to James Place, and once again we had a wonderful stay! If charm, location, delicious breakfasts, and lovely hosts are what you are looking for...look no further! All within walking distance to the shops and restaurants in beautiful Freeport!

Bill and Mary Anne were great hosts. Their inn is delightful, clean, well maintained and beautiful. The waffles for breakfast were to die for and i had 3 1/2 cups of coffee it was so good. The bed was so comfortable that I slept 9 hours. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Jacob

The James Place Inn is such a gem! It is a beautiful home right in the heart of Freeport, but the best part is the incredibly warm hospitality from Bill and Mary Ann. They are so kind and the rooms are beautiful and cozy, and breakfast is wonderful (especially the scones!) I highly recommend this B&B for a quiet and cozy stay!

My wife and I had such an amazing stay! We stayed in the Pine Room which I would highly recommend. It was super roomy and cozy and had such a nice backyard deck where we saw and heard so much wildlife. Bill and Mary Ann are wonderful hosts and were super accommodating to all our needs. They also gave us some great recommendations and are super knowledgeable about the area. As far as breakfast, Bill is a wizard in the kitchen. Breakfast every morning was so amazing and kept us powered for our daily activities. All in all, James Place Inn was the perfect place for our first trip to Maine and we will definitely be back in the future.

Location to the busy areas of Freeport is steps away from this quiet oasis. Very nice innkeepers and staff will be there to make your stay pleasant while allowing you the privacy of a hotel guest.
We stayed one night on our way home from mid coastal Maine and enjoyed our stay.
