Nice rooms, excelent breakfast with a view of the lake, very nice waitstaff at breakfast. Reception was hard to find and very uncooperative, they didn't offer advice of where to go for dinner - it was late, and next morning we saw we were very close to the island. Simple hotel but clean, nice and with beautiful gardens and lake views.

Very nice room , simple but complete , very clean . The restaurant serves very good breakfast with a view of the lake . The reception is a little hidden and people appear to leave their post early. Had to look for it . No information was given on where to go for dinner and they forgot to put water in our room. It was ok but the service could be better (except at the breakfast restaurant)

This was a slightly odd place, but we felt well taken care of. Our initial rooms were not great (small, bare-bones, evidence of small wildlife inside), so we asked for an upgrade and were given a very nice suite of large, comfortable, adjoining rooms. This was fairly late in the evening, and the person who helped us (assistant manager?) was friendly and accommodating. We ate both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant – the food was very good, though service not very attentive. We slept very well... didn't hear any noise from the nearby shopping mall. It's worth noting that that this hotel isn't actually on the island of Flores, it's just over the bridge. Picturesque setting, right on the lake. We stayed one night, as a stopover on our way to Tikal; probably wouldn't consider a longer stay here, but it served its purpose well!

We were disappointed by our stay at the Maya International in Flores. The restaurant has a great waterfront location and the food was very good. The hotel service was very bad. There is no English spoken among the staff. We asked for help with a restaurant reservation and confirmed they understood, but the restaurant did not have any record of the reservation. We had an early departure and needed a transfer to the airport, but despite confirmation of our request, there was no transfer arranged in the morning and they tried desperately but could not find a last minute ride for us. Luckily, a worker drove us in his truck or we would have missed our flight. I can not recommend this hotel.

This is an old hotel that may had seen better days. The room looked poor. The hotel itself is worn down and you can't even pay for transport to the airport with a card (debit/credit), they only accept cash.
