Great location, only 5 minutes walk from Exeter St David's train station. I've only stayed for one night due to business travelling. The breakfast variety and service experience was great, a good variety of refreshments.
The building itself shows its age, and my floor was very squeaky, I hope there were no tenants below me! I've opted on with the shared bathroom option and the bathroom was sparkling clean.
Overall great place!

The hotel is very close to the station, so it was not difficult even with my carrier. The hotel staff was very friendly and tried to provide me with good service. The hotel room was nice, but the shared bathroom was inconvenient. Of course, there weren't many guests and it wasn't crowded, so I didn't have any inconvenience in using the bathroom, but it was a little inconvenient to have to leave the room to use the bathroom. Other than that, the hotel breakfast was good, and everything else was good.

Stayed here for one night in August. Was really impressed with the Telstar. Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Room was cosy (I had a single room) and had everything I needed. Breakfast was great and fab location in town for Exeter St David’s or Exeter Central station. Will definitely stay again when passing through!

Really nice B & B, clean and very central, just a 5 minutes walk to the shops and 10 minutes to the river. Staff were very friendly and the service was good. No complaints at all.

An average B&B that’s not especially memorable. My room was in the attic and a bit too warm. Only one bulb in the ceiling light out of three worked and although this was reported to the owner nothing was done. Breakfast, like everthing else, was average.

I stayed at the Telstar consistently from September 2024 to June 2025 during my time at university, for two-week stretches through all seasons, and I can honestly say it’s the best place to stay in Exeter. The staff are unbelievably kind and attentive, they cannot do enough to help. One experience that really stood out was when the breakfast chef couldn’t make it due to a circumstance. The team compensated everyone for breakfast annd offered a pasty instead—which was such thoughtful gesture! They also go the extra mile in other ways, like providing extra blankets or small heaters if it’s cold. I’ve stayed at other hotels in Exeter, like Hotel Indigo and Holiday Inn, but once I stayed at the Telstar, I never went anywhere else. It’s perfectly located near St David’s Station and just a short walk from the city centre. Breakfast is incredible, the rooms are cozy and Victorian in style, and the atmosphere is just so lovely. Special thanks to Amy, Ben, Madelaina, and all of the wonderful staff at breakfast for always making my visits so enjoyable. I miss staying so much. I’ll be back for leisure the next time I’m in Exeter 🥰.

I am here now, I booked a single room with balcony for three nights, I leave tomorrow. I love it so much! Such a charming hotel, quirky and stylish with loads of interesting features and furnishings. The Telstar is lovely and clean and the room has everything you need, kettle coffee tea hot chocolate and water etc. The bathroom is stocked with liquid soap, moisturising lotion, shower gel and lovely fluffy towels , My bed is comfortable and clean. Breakfast is amazing, with so much choice and felt very relaxed. The hosts are amazing, friendly and helpful and the housekeeping staff are also lovely and efficient. Everything is lovely and clean. The hotel is very close to St David’s Station and walking distance to city centre and all amenities I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Exeter and surrounding areas. Thanks for a lovely stay x
