We visited during a weekend street fair and enjoyed the live band playing in the ballroom. Cocktails and dancing added a festive energy that made the evening memorable. We had originally booked through a third-party platform, and prior to arrival, my husband called the hotel directly to ask about the Moonraker room... the one Bill Murray had previously stayed in. The staff member told us we were all set and said she was holding that room for us. At no point did she clarify that our reservation was for a different room type. So it came as a surprise when we checked in and were not placed in the Moonraker room but rather a queen room with no TV. This was not the room we had been led to believe was waiting for us. Our travel companions received both email and text confirmations, but we didn’t receive any. I called the night before check in just to confirm our reservation, fully expecting we were confirmed for the Moonraker room based on the earlier conversation. After our stay, I spoke with the owner directly and truly appreciated how she listened and took the time to make things right. She kindly offered us a future stay in the Moonraker room at a discounted rate, which was incredibly generous and shows she values her guests. One thing I’ve since learned is that booking through third-party platforms can sometimes lead to miscommunications like this. It also takes a significant cut from small local businesses. If you’re considering staying at this historic boutique hotel in Eureka, I highly recommend booking directly with the property. It helps avoid confusion and better supports the people behind the stay. The staff was friendly and the location is fantastic, but clearer communication during that first call would have helped manage expectations. That said, the owner’s follow-up made a lasting impression. This could have easily been a five-star experience... and I genuinely look forward to returning.

This sweet Victorian hotel is a nice break from the long drive down the west coast. The bed was clean & comfy. Breakfast was fresh pastry, and real coffee. The staff was friendly and the vibe is very private. We were there on a Monday night, so it was also quiet.

Perfect for me. Comfortable bed, very clean, and interesting decor. I will be back. Plenty of little areas to sit and read or chat with friends. Antiques everywear.

Great location, super nice people, and the venue is really cool. It had an Irish pub and cocktail lounge attached. There were exciting events in the hall. A thoughtful breakfast selection. The room was clean and full of style. Walking distance to old town

We love staying at this charming hotel! Every room is different and furnished with beautiful antiques. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff is helpful and friendly. The location is in the historic district with shops and restaurants nearby and the waterfront is a few blocks away. We highly recommend this place!

Wanted to like it, but... The building is charming but needs better maintenance and some tasteful updates. The elevator has a strong musty smell. Our room was small with a tiny bathroom and looked nothing like the photos of "deluxe king" rooms on the booking site. There were scuffs and dings on the paint, the corners of the carpets were dusty, and there was no way to adjust the temperature. The beds in this hotel are creaky — we clearly heard people going at it *vigorously* in the room above ours at 9am! On the plus side, the location is good, continental breakfast in the lobby was nice, and parking is free.

What a beautiful and unique inn that really captured the historic feel of the city’s past. The accommodations were wonderful, especially the bed. The decorative details and furniture just added to the historic experience. The lounge and entertainment made a fun evening just steps from our room. The staff were all friendly, helpful with information , and welcoming. The location of the inn could not have been better for exploring the historic district. There were multiple fabulous dining options all within walking distance. We felt perfectly safe walking around.
