Best place we've been to, ever! Friendly staff, great service, made us feel special, nice game drives, saw the big 5 in 2 drives. helped me with my proposal, did everything they could and more. 10/10 recommendation!!

Wir haben hier 4 wundervolle Tage und Nächte verbracht - es war gigantisch Es ist in Worte kaum zu beschreiben Stefan und Karin und die ganze Staff besonders unser Rancher Ruan und der Fährtensucher Redwill haben uns unseren Traum leben lassen. Die Game Drives waren sehr besonders. Es ging nicht nur um die Big Five, sondern auch um Informationen über Land und Leute und Fauna und Flora, selbst wenn wir besondere Vögel gesehen haben wusste Ruan darüber Bescheid. Ob es früh morgens einen Moccachino oder abends einen Sundowner mit Gintonic an einer Wasserstelle gab wo eine Herde Elefanten vorbei kam, Es war atemberaubend schön. Das Essen , die Getränke, das Zimmer und der Pool waren ein Traum. Wir werden auf alle Fälle nochmals wiederkommen.

We had a wonderful experience at Makumu, very friendly staff which made you feel like home. Had great sightings and enjoyed the delicious food. At night there is an amazing fireplace where you can watch the stars. Couldn’t ask for more. Thank you to the whole Makumu Team.

Eine unglaublich gemütliche und geschmackvoll ausgestattete Lodge, mit vielen kleinen originellen Details und einem super Ausblick über den Busch. Wir haben uns sofort sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Team der Lodge ist wie eine große Familie , in die man herzlich aufgenommen wird.Von den Frauen in der Küche wird man umsorgt wie bei „Mutti“, die Mädels von der Rezeption organisieren schnell und unkompliziert. Unsere Koffer kamen leider etwas später und Nadja hat sie herbei telefoniert.Herzlichen Dank dafür Die Ranger sind erst zufrieden, wenn man alle Tiere vor der Kamera hatte , die man unbedingt sehen wollte und wir haben so viele gesehen, einfach nur schön . Die kleinen Picknicks im Busch ( mit Dekoration ) waren zusätzlich ein Highlight, herzlichen Dank dafür an unseren Ranger R. Abends sitzt man dann mit dem Lodge-Team und den anderen Gästen ( maximal 12Personen) an einer langen Tafel oder Lagerfeuer beisammen und tauscht das erlebte miteinander aus. Und es gab immer viel zu erzählen und zu lachen . Eine Lodge zum Wohlfühlen, der Abschied viel uns sehr schwer!! Gerne wären wir länger geblieben,

A personal and heartwarming experience. Every corner is cared for in detail. Wonderful and amazing staff, going out of their way to ensure wellbeing of guests. Outstanding cuisine. Superb game drives (thank you Reinhard and Ridwell) with all questions answered and Big Five seem up-close within the first two days and: don’t miss the massages in the SPA. What a fantastic place this is! Very intimate. Only space for 12 people. We had a wraparound balcony high up, a bath with a view of the watering hole across the Klaserie game reserve. Every detail was thought of. The staff from hosts to cooks, rangers and trackers were brilliant. 2 game drives a day stopping for hot drinks in the morning and alcohol in the evening. It was very chilly and windy whilst we were there but this aided to us seeing every animal possible including black Rhino, white Rhino, Leopards Elephants, wilder beast, buffalo, zebra, lions, giraffe, hippo, impala to name most. This place was made special by the Ranger Rheinhard and Tracker Redwall excellent at their jobs. The food was delicious and loved sitting at a long table with everyone at breakfast and in the evening. It’s all candle lit in the evening! We didn’t use the pool with a view due to the weather or the outdoor fire pit. Upstairs in the main building was an open log fireplace very cosy

We had an amazing and marvelous stay at Makumu ! Our Ranger (Julia) and our Tracker (Ntiyiso) were awsome and they shared with us their deep knowledge of the bush and their habitant. Thanks also to Thomas, Shelley and Ruan for their warm welcome and the interesting discussions we had.
