Had a beautiful time at Dongyi for our first time in the desert! Service was impeccable from the moment we arrived - warm, attentive and thoughtful. Staff called ahead to pick us up and ensured room was ready upon early arrival. The room is huge and full of charm and character, and has everything you need. Enjoyed the fruits and apricot tea! There are also specially arranged cultural activities available throughout the day, and staff are easily contactable via WeChat. It’s also a 10-min drive to the Mogao Grottoes and Encore Dunhuang show. A rare gem in Dunhuang.

We were not impressed, especially for the price. We've stayed at hotels that are similarly priced and expected much better. To be fair, the hotel itself is beautiful. The architecture, the room interiors, and the breakfast and drinks to get were all very nice. However, the problems started at arrival. We were told the afternoon tea was cancelled and the restaurant was fully booked because of an event. No one told us this in advance, which was very disappointing. The check-in was disorganized. The receptionist (who was also the manager) turned away to help someone else while I was still talking to her. She didn't give us our room keys, saying the bell boy would open the door. But when we got to the room, the bell boy had to walk all the way back to get the keys. The bell boys were actually very friendly and helpful—the only good part. To make things stranger, the female manager called me a few hours after we checked out. She asked how the event affected our stay. I was busy and rushing around, and the call worried me—I thought I had left something behind. Asking for our opinion after we left was too late. They should have asked us during our stay, or better yet, informed us before we even arrived. So, while the place is beautiful, the poor communication and service ruined the experience. We wouldn't stay here again for the price.

Excellent place to stay in Dunhuang! Room is big but cozy and decoration is exquisite. Breakfast is hearty and you can have sparkling wine early morning 😀 Price is on the high side but hotel made up for it with top notch services! At night they have several cultural activities in offer. I was able to join 2 of them and it was pretty fun! Plus they have me free cocktail on my last night there. Two thumbs up 👍👍

Hotel is very fancy and in a perfect location, close to all attractions. Staff is very attentive and helpful. Only downside is the very high price and that a swimming pool is missing.

The room is spacious and extremely comfortable. The service is excellent, and I was able to communicate with the staff via WeChat. The hotel offered a cultural class to help me better understand the Mogao Grottoes, which was very informative. The breakfast provided was delightful.

This hotel truly exceeded my expectations! Discovering this hotel in Dunhuang felt like stepping back in time to the Han and Tang dynasties, or even to a foreign land. The hotel facilities and service were excellent, and our housekeeper, Xingzi, was incredibly attentive! We also visited the hotel's exhibition, which was fantastic! The breakfast was also delicious, though we hope they'll offer more à la carte options.

I was very satisfied with the room and service and highly recommend it. Our housekeeper, Yang Tao, was especially enthusiastic, attentive, and considerate. She was voted the "Housekeeper Star" of our Silk Road trip. I hope the rest of the hotel staff will emulate her and be conscientious and meticulous in their work.

The overall design is strong and the service is also very good. In the morning, you can hear the sound of the shower draining upstairs in the courtyard room, which is a bit noisy. At night, you can hear singing upstairs when you sit in the courtyard, but you can no longer hear it after you return to the room and close the door.

The room was nice, and the housekeeper specially arranged two adjacent rooms. The overall service was good. For breakfast, the service staff specially recommended the check-in on the third floor, and also prepared sparkling wine to help take photos and check in. The hotel bar was nice, and the bartender was a handsome guy🤵

The environment is 100 points, and you can see Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Lake from afar. The service is very good ~ butler-style service from beginning to end ~ ~ The only drawback is that the facilities are a bit old and the switch cannot be controlled throughout the house

One of the best wild luxury hotels I have ever stayed in. The hotel has a full sense of design, the room hygiene service exceeds expectations, and the housekeeper's photography skills are also great. I highly recommend it

The service is very enthusiastic and the toiletries are high-end. The room is in line with local characteristics. There will also be a lighting ceremony at night, which is very emotional. If you are not in a hurry, you can also experience their Dunhuang cultural experience class

The service is very good. There is a business car to pick up and drop off at the airport, and the room is upgraded for free. I experienced clay tablet painting and night ceremony for free in the hotel, and parking is also very convenient. I ordered a set breakfast, which was large and filling.
