Arrived at hotel met by 3 very drunk very loud men . Entered into the guest house the room door had scratches all around keyhole and door looked as if someone had tried to break in . Once inside the room there was patches of bare carpet where it had worn away , side light hanging off , tv on top of a wardrobe that couldn't be seen from the bed, bathroom the radiator was all rusted , black mould all round bottom of shower only had cold water from tap unless you put shower on then got boiling hot water from the tap and no cold . The hairdryer didn't work and they said was free WiFi but couldn't connect as that part of guest house doesn't pick it up

We have just returned from this guesthouse. We were forced to open the door in the middle of the night to some man stating he was the owner to see if anyone had been smoking in the room he did not have any i.d. So he could have been anyone. This upset my wife so much that she wanted to leave right away. The room itself had worn carpets, paint flaking off the ceiling ,dirty showerhead, loose toilet seat and lots of small flies in the room. We were meant to go for breakfast which we had already paid for but we left without eating. I would not advise anyone to use this guesthouse.

Disappointed
Did not feel welcome. Banging doors disturbed sleep. Bed very soft. Shower poor. Water hot one minute cold next. Power in shower started off ok but lessened during shower.
Breakfast self serve was hot and tasty. "Sit where you want and help yourselves ' then walked away was the only communication we had. Too busy talking to each other. Had to ask who we had to give key too on checking out. Waitress just took it.
Disappointed over all...

It was not what I expected, i.e., I had this idea, from the photos, that it would be a family-run business. In fact, it's associated with the Caledonian Hotel, right next door. Guests at GGH go next door for breakfast, which is included in the price. The breakfast was EXCELLENT - I'm still dreaming of their sausages! - and the service was good. As for location, it's on a main road, and if you don't mind walking, it's a reasonable distance from 'downtown'. There's a laundry service just down the street; one or more buses run by on a regular schedule, but that doesn't interfere with one's sleep. The room was very comfortable, with a modern ensuite. Maid service was every day (not a standard detail, I was to find out at later accommodations). Overall, it was a good stay!

Room very nice. A little dated. No curtains on one window meant i was awake at dawn. Very good parking sharing with next door.

I have to agree with a previous review re this B&B. I can't believe the reviews have been written about the place I stayed in. Everthing is so run down and needs replacing. We stayed on the ground floor next to the front door. Every time someone entered or left the building the door slammed hard and woke us up. The paint was peeling off the ceiling and the radiator rusty. The sheets were clean but had holes in and everything else in the room was just a little grubby. This place needs a massive refurbishment to get it back to standard. The bathroom light switched on a fan that stayed on for about 20 minutes after the light went off which kept us awake in the night. The only reason I have given it a 2 instead of a 1 is that the breakfast which we had in the hotel next door was really tasty and the staff very friendly.
