"I stay in this hotel often since 15yrs even before it became postillion brand. next to motorway. convenient for many of my business contacts. good location close to Germany border. hotel itself is good. well run. clean. modern big car parking & good to arrange business events. plenty meeting rooms. they have stopped bacon+ egg station. half boiled or scrambled egg rubbish from jar. . I like fried or poached eggs & bacon breakfast otherwise I can stay at many cheaper low quality hotels."

"As a frequent guest of various VanderValk hotels, I am attracted by the attractive balance between luxury and affordability that Valk.com offers. Unfortunately, my recent stay at VanderValk Hotel Deventer left me with a somewhat mixed impression. It is important to note that overall the hotel still maintains a good standard, but there were certain aspects that did not meet my expectations. My intention was to book a panoramic room, drawn by the promise of expansive floor-to-ceiling windows promising beautiful views. I had reserved a panoramic room and selected the ninth floor via the app's digital check-in system. Unfortunately, upon arrival it became clear that my digital check-in had apparently not been successful, meaning that higher floors were not available. Instead, I was offered a panoramic room on the t****th floor, which due to its lower position did not provide the expected panoramic experience. I asked for a higher floor and ended up getting the panoramic room on the fifth floor. It may seem like a small thing, but given my specific preference for a higher floor, it was confusing to be offered the lowest option first. The panoramic room itself was neat and well maintained. Nevertheless, given the price, which could yield a suite elsewhere at other VanderValk hotels, the room did not meet my increased expectations. It's worth noting that the details make the difference. Overall it can be considered a satisfactory if somewhat costly accommodation. The concept of waking up to an expansive wall of glass is enchanting, but the reality of the view of an industrial area outside the window, in contrast to the picturesque imagery on the website, was disappointing. This inconsistency created a feeling of being somewhat misled. The room featured an elegant all-glass shower, a fitting detail for a romantic getaway. Nevertheless, the water pressure of the rain shower did not meet expectations. The hotel itself is beautiful with nice spots to take pictures. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. However, in the culinary field, the restaurant did not meet expectations due to the bland dishes. In addition, we had to ask for warm vegetables and were not served the usual fried potatoes, which in principle should have been served without request. This deviation from the expected standard left us with a somewhat negative feeling. It's unclear if this is due to post-COVID policy changes, but either way it was a disappointment. Having experienced the excellence of several other VanderValk hotels, Hotel Deventer left me with the feeling that it was not quite up to the standard I have come to expect."

"We had 2 beautiful days last week in the top apartment with 2 bedrooms. The apartment has a complete kitchen and a beautiful (new) indoor shower. Furthermore, the service is great. The Commission has not yet been able to make any proposals for the Council. Another tip; book directly at the hotel (really more advantageous) and park the car free at the overside of the Icesel (point costs € 1.30 for one single and € 1.90 for a return) We will certainly come back a little bit !"
