Reliable HIE property that's new, pet friendly, and excellent staff. All the comfort and convenience of an HIE with the extra perk of being new, in a great central location for downtown and uptown cafes, bistros, and art scene. We always stay here when visiting Des Moines. The team here provides excellent customer service. This time, Brittany at the front desk was friendly, professional and acknowledged on IHG Diamond Ambassador status and provided us the the corresponding perk. A very pleasant stay. I highly recommend the HIE Downtown Des Moines.

Not impressed
Beds were not very comfortable. Bathroom looked like it needed a deep cleaning. It did the trick for an overnight on the way to a wedding further north, but overall I wasn't very impressed.

Very Friendly Staff
Great location for a halfway stop back to our home. Restaurants nearby, very friendly staff that went over and above for something left at the hotel!! Special shout out to Mary & Karla (sp?) for their help!!

Easy to get to, couple spots to walk to for dinner but I had the ability to use the shuttle bus that night to get a pizza from a recommendation from the front desk. Both girls working front desk were extremely friendly!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful at check-in, especially Maddie. The hotel is well maintained, very clean. They had high quality comfortable beds and linens. The bath had a great shower, with adequate vanity space. The room was well designed with a desk and effective lighting. There is also plenty of parking on the premises. It is pet friendly with a modest pet fee.

Very quiet in a newer residential area. Within a mile of restaurants. Close to Grays Lake for an evening stroll or bike ride. Shuttle service to take you anywhere within 2 miles of the hotel. Nice continental breakfast area. Used the pool, hot tub and fitness center- no issues with anything.

The customer service was incredible! They messaged me on the app about my cot request and after finding it we’d arrive late, they had the pull out bed made and cot in the room. The breakfast was delicious! Perfect stop with family of 5!
