Not great at all for the money you pay. $800 dollars for two nights to have stained sheets and not clean room on arrival. Have to get your own towels, power washing outside ant 8am, the list goes on. Only apologies offered. This is truly not what I expected and actually was worse than when I have had at “regular” Hilton properties for half the cost, yet this is considered “upscale” and I booked for that reason on purpose as anniversary Suprise for my wife. Very dissatisfied with Hilton on this one. Should be offering to take care of some of our stay. There were I few of these reviews out there over the last 24 months and I regret that I didn’t look harder as only the “top 5” show on main page-shocker.

Staff was friendly! Valet service was professional and super fast! Gorgeous hotel. Drinks at the bar were exceptional. Room was beautiful. The hotel was historical and very clean. We will definitely return because of the wonderful service. Thanks to Anna in vet who also helped us with our luggage.

This is a great option in Des Moines. Walking distance to whatever you need. I love the design of the rooms. This is a historic hotel and you feel that in the lovely lobby BUT go to your room and it's clean in design and more modern. Well done in my view. This was a work trip, but really fine service. Really lovely. One small note is that breakfast downstairs is busy, limited tables. If you're there on business that can be an issue but I got it to go. I would 1000% stay here again. This is a great option and the best hotel I have stayed at in town.

Stayed at the Hotel Fort Des Moines during the week on business and it was a wonderful stay! My king room was modern yet elegant, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Our group also had an evening gathering at their Reading Room and adjacent Study where the food served was 10/10! There doesn't seem to be a ton immediately around the hotel by foot, but we did land at the South Union Bread Café for lunch and it was delicious. I would book another stay at Hotel Fort Des Moines!

Russel was great at the curb. Sarai ver helpful at check in. The room is very nice. This is a stately building in wonderful condition. Perfect location for us. A very friendly, accommodating welcome. I would definitely say here again. We are loving it here.

Großes Hotel in altem schönen Gebäude in Downtown. Wir hatten ein riesiges Zimmer im 11. Stock. Super ruhig. Sehr gute Betten. Die Dusche hatte nur wenig Druck / Wasser - vielleicht lag es am Stockwerk!?!? Im Hotel ist ein hochgelobtes aber sehr teures Restaurant, haben wir nicht genutzt. Fußläufig sind diverse andere Restaurants und auch Sportbars. Zu Fuß über den Fluss sind es 1,6 km bis zum Capitol. Zusätzlich ist im Hotel ein Frühstücksbereich. Völlig überteuert aber zumindest das Essen ist lecker. Der Kaffee leider nicht. Full American Breakfast kostet 15 (!) Dollar. Joghurt mit etwas Obst und Granola 11 Dollar. Tee 3,50 und Kaffee 4 Dollar. Freundliches hilfsbereites Personal. Wenige Gehminuten zum Pappajohn Sculpture Park. Valet Parking kostet 30 Dollar pro Tag. Das Parkhaus um die Ecke kostet bis zu 8 Dollar pro Tag.
