I had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Hotel in Datong and was genuinely impressed by the level of service and hospitality. The room was modern, spotless, and well-equipped with all the amenities you’d expect from a quality stay — comfortable bedding, fast Wi-Fi, and a clean, spacious bathroom.
What truly stood out, though, was the staff. They went above and beyond by preparing an early breakfast pack for us when we had to check out before the buffet opened — a small gesture that made a big difference. They also safely stored our luggage after checkout, allowing us to explore the city hands-free before heading to the train station.
Overall, the service was efficient, friendly, and thoughtful. If you’re visiting Datong, I highly recommend staying at Hampton — they make traveling easy and comfortable from start to finish.

Very comfortable room. The room is clean and the location is not far from the ancient city. Just a short taxi ride away. Breakfast variety was decent. I always enjoy my breakfasts at Hilton Hampton. Front desk was polite and helpful in suggesting places to eat and visit. The room is a tad hot during winter as it’s centralised aircon. We opened the window for some ventilation. As the air is dry in Datong, i like the fact that they provided a humidifier in the room. Great 2 night stay.

The staff were very friendly and nice, special thanks to Ms Zhang (Zhangni), who helped us on several occasions. Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel, given this very convenient location and great service.

Really enjoyed my time at the Hampton. Such a great view, comfortable surroundings and a tasty restaurant in the same building. Staff super friendly and helpful- let us take breakfast away despite not having a booking, thank you for the help Anna!

Great customer service. All staff are very courteous & friendly. Leo, the senior guest agent, was very accommodating. After checking in, we requested a river view room. He went above & beyond to find a river view & bigger room for us. The front desk and self laundry staff are very helpful. Had a pleasant stay.

This hotel has crappy service, not worth to be hilton-the lady at the front desk has bad attitude and treated me like shite. The location is far from the city center and noisy... You can hear cars from the high way. The breakfast is also a joke-Limited seats and just not a hilton worthy breakfast... Might as well go out to eat on the street

The front desk was very helpful. They went above and beyond to accommodate me. My favorite part of the stay were the cleaning ladies. They were very helpful and always had a smile on their faces. 😃
