Kongshanliao Zen-style Boutique Hotel (Datong Ancient City Branch)​

The room design was very stylish. The facilities were brand new and well-equipped. The complimentary toiletries were thoughtfully selected. The staff were warm and patient, and the shuttle service they provided was incredibly convenient! And our child absolutely loved playing on the mahjong machine!

Bvlgari Amenities: Very comfortable. Huayan Temple Incense Ash Glazed Bracelet: A thoughtful welcome gift from the hotel. Kongshan·Healing Moment: Location: Situated within the ancient city, it's convenient for exploring yet set away from the bustling city center. This perfectly aligns with its name, offering a tranquil escape. Facilities: The hotel's facilities are impeccable, with thoughtful touches evident everywhere. The welcome fruit was delicious, and the provided snacks were a lovely bonus. Cleanliness: Spotless. A top recommendation for anyone meticulous about hygiene. Ambiance: Japanese modern style. Service: The service was both attentive and genuinely warm. From pre-arrival communication, airport/station pick-up, check-in, and tour guidance to 24-hour personalized assistance—you just need to make a request, and the butler will cater to it (unreasonable demands excluded, of course!). Even though I only stayed for one day, I will fondly remember all the kind and warm-hearted people here. Thank you again, and I hope to visit you all again!

I'm not usually one to write reviews, but this place truly impressed me. The young male staff member was incredibly welcoming and helpful, assisting with our luggage and even coming out to greet us. The owner was also incredibly kind. Our child's book was left behind in the room, and when my husband went to retrieve it, he mentioned how delicious the sea buckthorn juice in the room was. The owner immediately offered us more – even though we didn't take any, it was such a thoughtful gesture. They even have a guest chat group. My only regret is that we could only book for one night. If we visit again, I will definitely stay here!

I rarely review hotels or guesthouses, but from the moment I checked in here, I knew I'd have to write a glowing review after checking out. The host was incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic. They offer pick-up/drop-off service, but since we drove, we didn't need to use it. The amenities were fantastic: Bvlgari toiletries, hair oil, mouthwash, plus a variety of teas, drinks, snacks, and fresh fruit. Our laundry was washed, dried, and delivered back to our room. Breakfast was also exquisite and tasty. They offered recommendations for Datong's best food and must-see attractions, and were incredibly responsive to all our needs throughout our stay. Upon departure, each guest received a complimentary souvenir. Our stay at this guesthouse truly gave me a new appreciation for Datong. What wonderful people, what a charming city! 😄

Facilities: The room was equipped with a projector and a mahjong table (though none of us knew how to play!). The pillows were incredibly comfortable, the bedding was great, and it was wonderfully quiet, ensuring a fantastic night's sleep. They also provided an extremely comprehensive selection of toiletries and drinks! Environment: The city wall is just across the street from the hotel. Parking right at the entrance was very convenient, and it's a short walk to the temples and restaurants within the ancient city. Cleanliness: Spotless!! Service: Absolutely excellent! We were initially worried about bringing our dog (as many places claim to be pet-friendly but aren't genuinely so), so we called ahead. We received a very warm and reassuring confirmation from them.

The hotel shuttle was very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a family room upon arrival, which occupied the entire third floor! The decor was minimalist and comfortable, and all the amenities were thoughtfully provided. Every staff member was incredibly warm, attentive, and went above and beyond. The hotel's proximity to the city wall allowed us to enjoy views of the beautiful lanterns, which were especially stunning at night!
