Wushuang Villa Oriental Seaview Resort (Dali Erhai)

Traveling to Yunnan during the off-season is truly fantastic! I'd been warned beforehand about how awful traffic in Dali can be, so I immediately filtered my hotel search to only show options with parking. Many hotels without parking were located in narrow alleyways, making them a nightmare to access, which was incredibly frustrating. The next day, after exploring Haidong, we came to stay at Wushuang. It's quite close to Xiaoputuo and has a huge parking lot, with each room even coming with its own dedicated parking space – very nice indeed! Plus, the staff were always there to help with luggage whenever we arrived or left. My husband and I were here for our anniversary. We planned a movie night and brought our own beers, but one of the staff members was incredibly thoughtful and even surprised us with a complimentary bottle of red wine! OMG, we were so touched! The hotel also boasts an infinity pool, a 4K cinema, and a billiards room. Unfortunately, it rained so we didn't get to use the pool, but the cinema and billiards were both fantastic! (We had them all to ourselves, haha!) It's a shame we missed out on the complimentary photoshoot; I was just too incredibly sleepy to wake up. If we come to Haidong again, we'll definitely choose Wushuang! Oh, and by the way, the tie-dye shop right by the entrance was also great fun! I dyed a dress there, and it turned out absolutely gorgeous!

Among the many guesthouses in Wenbi Village, we chose this one and stayed for two nights. Apart from dining out, we spent most of our time cozying up in our room, taking in the ever-changing vistas of Erhai Lake and Cangshan Mountain from sunrise to sunset. We indulged in the guesthouse's delicious afternoon tea, experienced the tie-dye workshop downstairs, and browsed through the books they provided. A particular highlight was serendipitously catching sight of Erhai Lake's magnificent annual fishing lanterns! The guesthouse staff were also incredibly warm and attentive, offering convenient services such as station transfers and a shuttle service to the mountaintop.

I'd been searching online for a while for a suitable B&B, and then I chanced upon this one. The photos instantly caught my eye with their fantastic scenery, so I booked it. When I arrived, I discovered the views were even better than the pictures – you get a direct view of the sea, which is incredibly serene and calming. We were welcomed with complimentary afternoon tea, and to our delight, they even upgraded us for free to a more spacious room, also with sea views. The room was spotlessly clean too. The service was exceptional. They picked us up directly from the coastal bus stop and even offered a drop-off service to the train station, which was a huge convenience and made things so much easier! Both the breakfast rice noodles and the afternoon tea desserts were delicious. The location is fantastic too; the nearby coastal path and Wénbǐ Village offer some really picturesque spots for walks and photos. All in all, excellent!

When we missed breakfast due to an early departure, they proactively prepared a thoughtful to-go meal for our journey. The dedicated butler service is available 24/7 for pick-up and drop-off requests, and they even reached out on WeChat to share real-time location. As delightful extras, complimentary afternoon tea, Dali mineral water, and a professional travel photography service were also provided. It was such a pity to only stay for one night; I genuinely understood why this place is celebrated as the 'Hidden Pearl of the Eastern Coast'. Here, 'five stars' isn't just a rating; it's an immersive aesthetic of life where every single moment becomes a cherished memory!
