Our first two visits were during Covid times so were both very quiet visits. This time the hotel was full. We do love this hotel, fantastic location close to the beach and resort, great food and drink, beautiful relaxing pool areas and Amazing staff. The rooms are spotless but a little tired. The hotel is lovely and quiet too. We never got woken up by people coming back to their rooms and never heard anything from next door rooms. This visit just seemed to be lacking something! We stayed All Inclusive on the visit but have also done Half board previously. As previously mentioned there were people queuing for sunbeds from 8.20/8.30 and were literally running for beds at 9am when the pool area opened. We have never had this before at this hotel and was totally unnecessary. We never had a problem getting beds at 9.30/10.00. Most people reserving beds at 9am then all headed to the restaurant for breakfast leaving the bed’s unoccupied and also the restaurant extremely busy. The food for all meals was faultless and we always left happy and full. Great selection and always hot. Breakfasts and Evening meals are in the one main restaurant and lunch at the pool bar which is ordered from a menu not buffet service. The wait at the bars could often be a bit lengthy. Just not enough staff. Especially when people are ordering cocktails which are all made up to order. There are no dispensers to help yourself to soft drinks, beer or water. All drinks have to be ordered from the bar. I assume this is because not all guests are All inclusive. You cannot get a drink from the pool bar in your swimwear so everytime you wanted a drink during the day you have to put clothes on over your swimwear You do now have to pay 20€ deposit in cash for towels which is returnable at the end of your stay. This wasn’t a problem as we had read this on a previous review so were prepared for this. You can change your towels once during your stay for fresh ones. The hotel also has new ribbon wrist bands which is also your room key. Unfortunately these were not the best. We both had 4 different bands during our 9 night stay due to them either coming off or they stopped working on the door. The age range of guests seemed to be slightly higher this time. We are both in our 40’s and felt very young. The evening entertainment is low key. Usually a musician or singer. One thing I would like is to be able to sit on my sunbed round the pool first thing with a coffee. Especially if I didn’t fancy breakfast but you can only get coffee in the restaurant at that time of the morning and are not allowed to take them away. The pool bar serves coffee but does not open until 10.30. We ate out 3 times during the holiday just for a change. There are some amazing restaurants in the resort which are definitely worth a visit. The hotel has a lovely gym which we used while we were there. It could do with an extra couple of treadmills. There are currently only 2 and I waited over an hour to get one

I stayed at this hotel for 6 days. Very clean, calm and comfortable, hotel! The WiFi worked pretty well throughout the entire stay. The food was alright. It’s 5 min walk to the beach. Less than 10 min walk to the centre. Reception team, they are not helpful or friendly, a few ones yes, other ones are not. Breakfast team also a few ones they are friendly other ones very grumpy. Not all of them that speak English so, it’s a bit difficult to communicate with them. I think I do recommend this hotel.

This was our first experience of an adults only all inclusive holiday. Here's the good, the bad and the unfortunate. We have stayed in Barcelos previously as a family of 4. The Good: Conveniently located, being close to shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. The rooms are dated but the cleaners are excellent and non intrusive, if you have a 'do not disturb' notice on the door they respect that and come back at a time that is more suitable. Our bed was very comfortable, however there is only a sheet covering you so if you like extra weight in your bed covers you may have to request additional bed coverings. The air con worked well. The majority of the staff were friendly, we did feel in the first week that they may have been understaffed and we got the impression the staff that were on duty were overworked and under pressure. We hit on a few good nights entertainment wise. On nights that we felt it wasn't for us, we went to the Rock bar that was a short stroll away and really enjoyed the live bands and cheap cocktails. The bad and unfortunate: We were not happy with the room we were originally assigned as it overlooked apartments on the side street. Not the 'limited sea view' room we had paid for. Initially this was a bit of an issue at reception, however after some discussion we were shown another room. We had to pay an additional €68 per night to change rooms to a room overlooking the pool. However, as this was our first 'adults only' experience we wanted our holiday to be special so we paid the additional €680 for the 10 nights of our stay. The room did have a hot tub on the balcony which was a novelty. The only option for lunch was food at the pool bar. For an all inclusive we found this bizarre as we would have dined in the main restaurant or had the option of snack bars in other resorts. The food was very inconsistent. The quality could be good on one day and terrible the next. The first day we arrived we ordered steak as we had been travelling since 3am that morning and wanted a substantial meal, one smell of the meat and unfortunately we had to return them as it smelled as if it had gone off, when my husband cut into his steak the meat was stringy and not the texture you would expect from beef. The waiter shouted at the chefs on taking back the plates but no alternative was offered to us. Another day I ordered a club sandwich and it was brought to the table with one of the sandwiches completely broken apart, as if it had either been dropped or the toast just broke apart. It was inedible. Another incident was a hot prawn dish was served without the prawns being deveined, which was very offputting as the same dish was served very differently two days previous. I would repeat the sentiment of another reviewer in relation to the availability of water and the pool area. There should be better access to water for guests. We were all inclusive and only provided water in the room on the day of our arrival. The bottles provided at the pool

This was our third visit to this hotel and unfortunately no where near the previous two experiences. Pros The hotel is in an amazing location. In the heart of everything but set back enough to escape noise of main *****. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Really appreciated the Cava and chocolates for my birthday. Staff members such as Hilaria, Francisco and Jennie in the restaurant are wonderful. Our favourite and deserving of special praise is Driss. This man is so hardworking and helpful. He always has a smile on his face and a friendly word for all. The nights he was not on in the bar area the service was shocking and he was missed. Cons Food in the buffet restaurant is good for breakfast but the evening service is hit and miss. Even though we were half board we ate out 8 evenings out of 14 rather than endure walking around trying to find something to create a dinner. More thought needs to go in to dishes. Our room 3003 was overlooking the Bali bed area and we woken every morning by staff cleaning the whirlpool baths. The noise coming up from the main bar at night was very loud also. On our last night when we got back to our room I noticed a water mark appearing on the ceiling and water dripping from ceiling light in the hall. Have since seen that this occurred in another room on third floor. This is not acceptable and we can only assume meant that air conditioning was not working properly and contributed to my mother getting a serious chest infection before we headed home. Finally and most disappointing were the younger members of staff. We all have to start somewhere in a career but some of these have no personality for the service industry. From previous reviews left recently most guests seem to agree that the young girl with long dark hair and glasses and no name tag ??? was sullen, disinterested and downright rude in the pool bar and in the main bar in the evening. Also, the young Ulises only perked up when Driss or older members of staff were around. I never thought I would be leaving a poor review for the Corralejo Bay and I‘m sad to do so but I have to be honest. Finally maybe we were blessed on our previous visits to meet and make friends from all over but most people wouldn’t even speak to each other or say Good morning. Very stand offish and off putting. Would I go back, definitely not soon which I’m sad to say. Not the same hotel!

Our 2nd stay at this hotel and once again it hasn't disappointed. Perfect central location for everything, shops, beaches and markets. Food, there's nothing to complain about everything you need and more. We had room 2008 which is where you have to Bali bed and jacuzzi allocated to your room number and it's on a level overlooking the pool area so no rush for a sunbed, honestly it's amazing and well worth the extra money. Entertainment was mostly good but the ABBA tribute ladies were fantastic. And the thing that really is the heart beat of this hotel is the staff, each and every one of them is absolutely amazing and go above and beyond . We are still currently here as I'm writing this and are due to be picked up at 6.15pm for our 9.10pm flight home, you have to be out of your room by 12 noon but we are able to keep our room on until 6pm at a charge but a real big plus for us. So in our recommendations yes a very good sturdy 4*hotel and will be coming back in the future and certainly recommending to friends and family.

We had a week at the Barcelo Corralejo Bay. Fantastic service throughout and excellent food and standard of accommodation. Particular mentions for Leah B. (Guest Experience Manager) and Richard (handyman) for their attention to detail and great service. We loved our stay and have already booked again for next year. Superb throughout.
