H10 Ocean Dunas - Adults Only

Just arrived back after spending 11 nights HB at the H10 Ocean Dunas Hotel. This is not our first time staying in Corralejo, but this was our first time at this Hotel. We chose this Hotel as it’s Adults only and in a great location, just a short walk to the beach and the main street which has many shops, bars and restaurants and it’s just a 10-15 minute walk down to Music Square. On check in just after 10pm we were met by a friendly receptionist, we were issued with wrist bands, which act as your room key and how you order drinks etc (on account) during your stay. Although a good idea, not sure we actually liked wearing the bands and we noticed quite a few people had removed them. We stayed in a Superior Room with a garden view which was very peaceful, although we did find the room a bit small and basic compared to other 4* hotels we have stayed in but it was clean and tidy. The free safe, air con, fridge and tea & coffee making facilities were appreciated and the bed was a good size, but a bit hard. We did find though; there was a lack of storage and drawer space for our clothes and cases. As we had arrived late in the evening and too late for our first evening meal, the hotel had very kindly provided us with a plate of food each and some fruit and water in our room. Breakfast and dinner were served in the restaurant which also has outdoor seating, the staff are very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was self-service buffet style and was good; providing continental breakfast, fruit, yoghurts, cereal and a good selection of cooked breakfast items and pastries. Dinner has to be booked with Reception even if you are HB and you have to select a time. We just booked the same time for each night when we checked in, but were told we could easily change or cancel this, we could even swap the dinner for lunch if we wanted. Dinner is buffet style for the first course and dessert which seemed to be on a weekly rotation. The main course you select from a menu which we thought was great. The menu choices are mainly Italian inspired; pasta dishes, rice dishes, meat and fish dishes and there is a choice of one special dish per evening. The portion sizes for the main meals were good, but the quality of the food seemed a bit hit and miss. The first Sunday after we had arrived, the special was Roast beef which was amazing and it was recommended to us by other guests too. The following Sunday it was totally different and not very nice. We overheard other guests saying the same about some of the other dishes. We chose to eat out a few times during our stay, just to get some variety. In the Pool area there are plenty of sunbeds, although you may have to move around to different beds during the day if you prefer sun or shade. There were just a few people who seemed to reserve sun beds with the hotel pool towels, but then you never saw them again, or for just a hour or so later in the afternoon, which was a bit annoying and really not necessary. Second stay at H10 Ocean Dunas and we will definitely return for a third. Despite some minor negatives below, we would come back and look forward to doing so. The hotel is peaceful but so close to everything Corralejo offers. It really is a tranquil haven. Some people do put towels down on sun beds before breakfast but we have never had an issue no matter time we went down. I really think there are plenty for all. The staff are fantastic - I can’t remember their names but the man on reception who helped us move rooms, the maintenance guy who fixed the shower, the friendly cleaners and the bar/waiting staff who I am sure were here when we came in 2024. Couple of negatives: Despite requesting well in advance the same area as we were in before, we were given a room above the smoking area which made balcony unusable for us as non-smokers - we persevered for 2 days but at times it was unbearable. We asked staff to move us and they did the next day to the original area we requested. It meant packing and unpacking again but at least we could use the balcony - they are so lovely and big. We were so grateful for this and it made our holiday so a big thank you There is nowhere comfortable to sit if you are a non-smoker. There is an indoors room with comfy chairs, but it smells because it is right next to smoking area and who wants to sit indoors anyway. On the 2 trips here we have never see anyone use it apart from to fill water bottles or get books. The smoking area is right next to the outdoor terrace of the restaurant so eating there can sometimes be a bit unpleasant if lots of people smoking - we just made sure to sit at the other end. The breakfast is Ok. Everything is just left under lights - fried eggs crispy, pancakes crispy. Toaster warms bread not toasts it. It is all just OK. We only had bed and breakfast, but last time we had half board and the evening meals were delicious. Coffee is from a machine but it is fine and you have coffee machines in room. The hotel guests are mainly British but there is only one English speaking channel - Sky News - they could do with investing in smart TVs perhaps as sometimes it is nice to watch a bit of TV or a film if you want to get out of sun. These are a few negatives but we love this hotel and Corralejo and look forward to coming back.

2nd stay in this fantastic Hotel. Location is perfect in middle of town and very close to beach. We stayed in a suite with pool view which is very light and airy with everything present to ensure a comfortable stay. Great breakfast selection and the evening ALa Carte dining has a great selection to pick from. The only thing which would enhance the experience would be to include free bottled water with meal. it was my husbands 50th Birthday during our stay and Reception helped me organise a surprise birthday cake which was presented at breakfast time and all the Waiting staff (sorry I can’t recall all names) sang happy birthday. In addition ballon’s and bottle cava left in our room - this was a lovely touch thank you. Always plenty of sun-beds. Spa treatments in sister hotel - dreams also extremely enjoyable. Will definately be back Thank you for making our holiday special.

A lovely quiet hotel, extremely clean and plenty of space. Breakfast was great and there was lots to choose from. The staff are all very friendly. The rooms / corridors are a little dated. I would recommend this hotel and I would return, it is in an amazing location.

Upon arrival we were seated and given a cool glass of cava which we really appreciated after a very early start to the day. Our room preference had been noted and we were given a room with a garden view on the first floor. We'd upgraded to a superior room and were somewhat surprised by how small the room was compared with the photos on their website. There seemed to be very little storage, hardly any drawers and nowhere to hang maxi dresses. Also, finding a location to dry my hair was a bit of a problem, only one mirror on the inside of the wardrobe door but then nowhere to put hairdryer/straighteners/hairbrushes down. Why don't hotels seem to have dressing tables anymore? Breakfast was hit and miss, there was no continuity with the hot food selection, some of it looked like food from the evening meal that was repurporsed. Also, when dishes ran out they took ages to be replenished, especially fried eggs. I was asked during check-in if I'd any allergies and wish I'd mentioned I wasn't keen on mango because almost all the fruit dishes and yoghurts contained mango. A nice touch at breakfast was the cava though. On reflection we wouldn't have chosen a garden view room because there was literally nothing to see except the tops of trees, I'd recommend a pool view room to anyone visiting this hotel. At one stage I felt there were insects in my room so did request for it to be cleaned. I don't think it was properly cleaned though which was a shame because we only had cleaning once in 7 days so would have expected it to be done thoroughly with fresh towels. No fresh towels were given though and there is a charge for changing pool towels. The pool area is spotlessly clean with plenty of sunbeds, parasols and side tables. Nice area and extremely quiet. The evening meals were the best part of the hotel. Buffet style for the starters and desserts and a la carte for the main course with plenty of choice. The food is cooked to order and the service from the waiting staff is impeccable making it a wonderful dining experience.

Lovely hotel, great location, beach virtually on doorstep, and on main street close to old town. Surrounded by bars and restaurants, enjoyed lunch at Palm Beach, No Name, Rebelde, and That's Amore cafes. Breakfast and dinner plenty of choice and nice quality. Pool nice and quiet, plenty of sunbeds available. Superior double room was allocated, in garden area, was fine for us, is close to McCarthys bar which has live music most nights, 9:30pm to 11pm, but not too intrusive, depending on your noise sensitivity. Staff are friendly and professional, Consuelo in restaurant was courteous and attentive, and Aleja makes a lovely Old Fashioned cocktail.
