The most amazing hotel ever! me and family have been going for 10 years, nothing beats salobre. The staff are out of this world. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. The food is out of this world, with different cuisines for dinner each night!!! My absolute favourite hotel, can’t wait for my next stay!

Amazing location, amazing staff and really great amenities

A 10 day break at this sprawling hotel in the mountains. It’s peaceful, it’s quiet, the grounds and public areas are beautiful and exceptionally clean. Pools and beds are really well looked after. We paid for an upgraded room on the 11th floor, the view was better and it meant easy access to adults only pool area but that’s the only benefit of an upgrade so I wouldn’t advise it if you’re expecting a better quality of room. The rooms are very spacious, great huge beds, dreadful ‘marshmallow’ pillows (we asked for extra). Bathroom is a luxury, so much space and a tub too. We had a really bizarre experience over the easy chair in the room. There’s only one provided in these double rooms. There’s more than enough space for two. We asked for another chair because we were staying 10 days and due to a mobility issue found sitting on the bed painful and uncomfortable. We were refused once without explanation, the second time we asked we were informed that the rooms were designed aesthetically and that only included one chair, however they’d see what could be done. They sent up some plastic chair and placed two pillows on it as cushioning (see pic). Really weird, is it really so difficult to simply provide a spare comfy chair? (They also suggested we bring in the balcony furniture as a solution!). For a hotel that prides itself on wellbeing and comfort this situation was remarkably strange and unexpected. They did apologise, they gave us a complementary Balinese bed and late checkout. Love love love those Balinese beds. They’re perfect for relaxation and the views are amazing, totally recommend! Breakfast is always awesome. There’s so much to choose from. Really enjoyed the fresh fruit options. Dinner is a bit hit and miss. Found that a lot of the dishes that should be hot were not. It’s ok if you’re eating from the grill or the fish station but otherwise expect to find lukewarm offerings and over cooked vegetables. Enjoyed the stir fry option, the cute desserts are a treat. Must complement the housekeeping team, our room was always super clean. The people who work at Salobre are always super friendly and professional. *Top Tip If you’re looking to hire a car avoid the Avis at the hotel at around €50 a day. We hired a small SUV for €85 for 8 days by hunting around.

Good hotel in need of some investment in the slightly outdated rooms.Basic in room tea/ coffee making facilities, not up to similar rated hotels, that have capsule type machines. Rooms are a good size, as a rough guide, the higher the floor,the better the view. There is a full length window in the shower that is clear glass which enables you to see out the main balcony windows, or, be seen by your partner/ room mate who is sitting on the bed. Not my bag, but a privacy curtain is available on request from reception, which would indicate that I am not alone. The in room decor seems from a different decade at best. Housekeeping do a fantastic job making up for this. Facilities and pools are very good, and perfect if you like peace and space around the pool unlike most other hotels. This is particularly the case on the Sun terrace at floor eleven. Never a battle for a sun bed there. Restaurant produces a great choice of different food that covers most different tastes. There is, in my personal view an issue with flies and birds having access to the food due to its semi outdoor location. There is a hotel cat that walks along some out door seating amongst the diners. I noticed on several occasions the cat being greeted and heavily petted by fellow guests, who then went direct to the buffet and handled lids and serving spoons and bread etc, without washing hands. The tables, mostly for two diners are located very close together, close enough, that you would struggle to have any conversation privately, or if it’s your thing, be able to hear what your fellow diners were saying. It made me feel most uncomfortable, so relocated to one of the few tables for four. It was more canteen than 5 star hotel restaurant. The restaurant staff are very good. Nice quiet location in the hills behind Maspalomas, that has a tendency to draw in the clouds, which is totally out of hotels control, and mentioned purely for information. Location allows for lovely walks without being hassled, or bothered at all. The hotel is very calm and quiet ,apart from the restaurant. There was supposed to be some kind of dress code for breakfast and dinner. There was none. Pyjamas and flip flops, sportswear, football tops, vests, t shirts all permitted. I am not expressing a view, this for information only. Overall a 4 star rating from me.
