Stay Hotel Coimbra Centro ★★★★
"At best, it's a 3-star hotel. The rooms are basic and dated, but fairly clean. Underground parking is available."
Praxis CBR Boutique Hotel - Coimbra ★★★★
"Beware, it is not a Hästens Sleep Spa anymore! New beds, average amenities 🙁 Still the old crew who tries to make up with friendliness for the shift towards being an average hotel. Our incentive for a stopover in Coimbra is gone unfortunately."
Zero Box Lodge Coimbra ★★★
"The front desk, both night and day time, were very friendly and helpful. We got complimentary beer upon arrival, their bottles are very cute. The rooms are very clean and the soundproofing was amazing. This was pleasantly surprised stay, I'd recommend this."
Hotel D. Luis ★★★
"Excellent hotel and good service."
Riversuites ★★★
"A very well-located hotel with very friendly and competent staff, good customer service, helpfulness, and information. The facilities were very clean and well-marked, and the room was comfortable enough, but it lacked a small table, as there was nowhere to put the computer for normal use. The mattress and room temperature were good. The bathroom was not as spacious as it was. You had to walk in, and, for example, using the sink to simply wash your hands would spill all over the floor, as it was a "minimalist" 30 x 20 cm. The toilet bowl was barely roomy, and the shower screen was just enough to move around. As I said, the bathroom was barely 3 square meters. The continental breakfast was very poor, not worth the extra cost."
Hotel Quinta Das Lagrimas - Small Luxury Hotels ★★★★★
"The room is large and high, so the heating doesn't seem to be very strong, which is the characteristic of the old building! The breakfast is OK, but the American coffee is not good. You can order other freshly ground coffee. The historical heritage of the hotel is the reason why I chose to stay here, and parking is convenient."
Hotel Mondego ★★★★
"Hotel staffs are helpful, and room is clean and comfort."
Hotel Coimbra Aeminium, Affiliated by Meliá ★★★★
"Good hotel in Coimbra"
Ibis Coimbra Centro ★★★
"Ok for business trips"

Hotel Ibn-Arrik
"Great breakfast and clean rooms. The pool area does need cleaning though (or more) but we still had fun!"
Palacio São Silvestre-Boutique Hotel
"Good hotel clean fair price. You need car to go there. Free parking outside. Breakfast also was good. Fair enough."
Granja da Cabrita
"Nice and clean place"
Vila Gale Coimbra
"Very pleasant room, restaurant, spa and indoor/outdoor pools."
NH Coimbra Dona Ines
"The room was great, and the bed was especially comfortable. However, the road along the river was under construction when we checked in, which limited our resting space."
Hotel Oslo
"Great location and service, beautiful view from the terrace,"
Entre Ruas Apartments
"We stayed two nights in apartment 2.2 - one bedroom with a small office room which has a desk and single bed. Location was great, being right off the main pedestrian strip in the old town area, so very atmospheric and convenient for restaurants. Check-in is at Hotel Oslo, about 4min walk away so you will have to walk with your luggage for a few minutes, including up some stairs. The apartment building also does not have a lift, so you will need to be able to carry your luggage up stairs within the building. I don't think you would be able to call an Uber or taxi to the street in front of the building as it is very narrow so bear this in mind. Some other minor points I noticed about the apartment which you may find helpful: - It directly faces another building on a narrow street, so the apartment doesn't really get natural sunlight - There is a washer but no dryer - it took a whole day for our clothes to dry and the rack sat in the living room - The apartment fittings are starting to feel a bit worn down"
Casa de São Bento
"The location of the structure is in my opinion optimal, as it is in a very nice residential area just after the botanical garden at the foot of the university. However, I thought the loft room was better, both in size and comfort: the shower leaked water so after three showers the floor was practically flooded and the space between the kitchen table and bed was very very narrow, making it difficult to move around. Average cleanliness. However, for two nights, enough time to see Coimbra, it's fine."
Solar Antigo Luxury Coimbra
"The hotel has a good location, just a 5-minute walk from the museum and university. However, the room's location and size are truly astonishing! My assigned room was on the ground floor, next to the reception. The staircase leading to the upper floor was directly above the bedroom ceiling, and I constantly heard footsteps going up and down, as well as conversations from the reception. The room design was a bit odd; the completely transparent shower faced the room door directly, and the toilet was just wide enough to fit a slightly tilted toilet—meaning you'd have to sit sideways for even intimate moments. (Pictures attached.) If you don't mind the room size and noise, you might consider this hotel; its design is quite unique."
Penedo da Saudade Suites & Hostel
"Came here with a big group, and Isabel our hostess was incredibly helpful and practical. She was good with recommendations of what to do and see as well. The accommodation was fantastic and the location very good. We had a lovely time here and I personally loved the views while having my breakfast!"
R3 Service - Five Senses in Coimbra
"The communication between the accommodation and the booking platform is clearly poor. I made a reservation, received a set of documents (voucher, invoice, and booking and payment confirmation), however, none of these documents included the room number or the key access code. I contacted the property, informing them that I would be traveling at night and arriving in the early morning. I communicated this information in writing in the reservation. The property confirmed that there would be no problem, because with the code I could enter whenever I wanted. The documents they sent me only had a 4-digit PIN that I believed to be the access code for the key and the room. No. The code did not work, the property's on-call phones were never answered. In the city, I contacted other hotels that were allegedly fully booked. I made more than 20 calls to the numbers they provided. Conclusion: I spent the night on the street. I paid and slept in the car, in the cold and without any comfort. They only returned my call after 7 am."
Hotel Domus
"Especially in historic cities like Coimbra, I tend to prefer smaller, independent hotels to the big institutional “standard issue” ones, and I can recommend this friendly, clean hotel to anyone who shares this preference. Its location was great, being within easy walking of much that you will want to see in central Coimbra, and there are numerous cafes, restaurants, and pasty shops nearby. The bed was comfortable, the expanded continental-type breakfast was very good, and my room television accessed a variety of stations, including several English-language ones (not that anyone goes to Coimbra to watch television, but during the mid-December rains I encountered, this came in rather handy at times!). There’s still a lot more I need to see in Portugal, but should I return to Coimbra again, I’ll expect to stay at the Domus once more."
Tivoli Coimbra
"Although the good position (10 mins walking from the historical center), the rooms in this hotel are old and, unfortunately, not clean at all. In addition, our room had intense disgusting cigarette smell (it was a non-smoker room), which was ignored by the staff. Staff at the reception do not talk good English and this led to miscommunication when we got explained how to enter and exit our car from the garage. Breakfast was ordinary, but there were very few waiters in the room, so some types of food/drink ran out and refilled with too big delay. I only described my experience but overall I think that good reviews of this hotel are due to low prices and good position. Anyway, if you ask me this is not a 4 star hotel."
Coimbra Camping & Bungalows
"The staff were very helpful and the cafe / restaurant a real asset. The location is also terrific as is the bus stop just outside the camp which will whisk you in to the centre of Coimbra within 20mins. However, the whole site looks and feels rather neglected: old caravans going green with what looks like neglect, soggy pitches with little apparent attempt to make them better for parking on ( notwithstanding the unusually wet conditions experienced this winter), poor signage, forelorn and dated toilet and showering blocks..... A little bit of love and attention and this could be a 5* site. As it is now, a 3* is generous."
