Stay Hotel Coimbra Centro ★★★★
"Easy check-in, room I stayed was spacious with a small balcony. Room facility can be improved (I prefer mug rather than paper cup), but the room has a hairdryer, electric kettle, small fridge so it was comfortable stay overall."
NH Coimbra Dona Ines ★★★★
"Although it was a bit far from the main street, it was very convenient as the Rede long-distance bus stop was nearby. It was a 10-minute taxi ride to the University of Coimbra."
HI Coimbra - Pousada de Juventude ★★
"Very good breakfast, worth staying"
Zero Box Lodge Coimbra ★★★
"I have mixed feelings about my experience in this hotel, the reason is that it has an unusual concept with a design-oriented approach, which attracted a designer like me. As I checked in late and tired, the friendly staff offering me an ice cold beer was a nice start. The fact that the room was a windowless box made me a little uneasy at first, although I am not claustrophobic, but I was relieved by the good lighting and the rain shower. The hotel is really a must-experience and appeals more to young guests with its more affordable price compared to others. The only negative point was that it wasn't clean enough, the sheet metal on the bed and dust on the floor prevented the perfect experience."
Hotel Mondego ★★★★
"Hotel is located near the Coimbra old town center. The location is great. The breakfast has good choices. The room is clean and spacious, though the bathroom fan is always on and we can smell some odor, but it doesn't bother us much."
Hotel Astoria ★★★
"The good things: nice architecture, excelent location, cleanliness, good breakfast, kind people in reception. Not so good: needs large maintenance in walls, woods, stairs, carpets and general renovation."
Praxis CBR Boutique Hotel - Coimbra ★★★★
"I had a wonderful stay in this uniquely designed hotel room, which is styled like a cozy library. The room was very comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully arranged, blending the library theme with all the modern amenities you’d expect from a quality hotel."
Hotel D. Luis ★★★
"OK, very good"
Ibis Coimbra Centro ★★★
"Great location, right by the river, and you can watch the sunset directly from your window. Head left out of the hotel, climb a very long set of stairs, and in about 16 minutes you're at the University of Coimbra. The main shopping street is also within a 5-minute walk. As shown in the picture, there's a paid parking lot nearby, which is super convenient if you're driving."

Vila Gale Coimbra
"Hotel well located close to the city center with excellent breakfast."
Hotel Quinta Das Lagrimas - Small Luxury Hotels
"The manor is beautiful, the front desk service is very good, always smiling, the European breakfast is good, the room is clean and odorless, the garden is playful, there is a very large banyan tree which is very rare, but notice that there are some stairs in front of the front desk."
Granja da Cabrita
"Friendly staffs"
Coimbra Camping & Bungalows
"The staff were very helpful and the cafe / restaurant a real asset. The location is also terrific as is the bus stop just outside the camp which will whisk you in to the centre of Coimbra within 20mins. However, the whole site looks and feels rather neglected: old caravans going green with what looks like neglect, soggy pitches with little apparent attempt to make them better for parking on ( notwithstanding the unusually wet conditions experienced this winter), poor signage, forelorn and dated toilet and showering blocks..... A little bit of love and attention and this could be a 5* site. As it is now, a 3* is generous."
Casa de São Bento
"I don't agree with all the wonderful comments here. We had a "luxury apartment" for three. The design of the rooms is elegant but not convenient ( bath in the middle of the bedroom, glass partition around the toilet) The extra bed was in fact a convertible sofa in the middle of the living room, which made using the sofa impossible and the room as such as well. There is no lift to take the luggage up, the room for breakfast is small and noisy. The cleaning of the room was not done until 7pm. I gave some laundry to do and I had to wait until 10pm to get it back. And the young lady at reception obviously does not care much and does not know what a smile is . It is not worth the price we paid."
Penedo da Saudade Suites & Hostel
"Came here with a big group, and Isabel our hostess was incredibly helpful and practical. She was good with recommendations of what to do and see as well. The accommodation was fantastic and the location very good. We had a lovely time here and I personally loved the views while having my breakfast!"
Casa da Baixa by Purus
"DO NOT BOOK THIS! I booked through their website which did not have a payment link. I got a WhatsApp message from an unknown number asking for a BANK TRANSFER! They said they don’t do online payment, and I can’t pay at the property because they manage it remotely. They then asked me to send card details. Let that sink in - they want you to send card details to a questionable WhatsApp number. When I jumped through hoops to send a transfer, they suddenly went silent. Didn’t answer emails or WhatsApp messages. Have requested my bank to reverse the transfer and have had to book a super expensive place last minute. THIEVES!"
Casa dos Aromas - Heritage & Confort
"Everything wonderful!"
Solar Antigo Luxury Coimbra
"Lovely place to stay in Coimbra.some rooms are not that comfortae but some are spectacular. We stayed one night in a small one and was not that comfortable as the room is indeed very small. However, next night we were in a bigger room and it was spectacular. The breakfast is served in the room but thats a turn off as its mostly carb (sugar). But overall a good experience."
Guesthouse Coimbra City
"The hotel is located in the wrong location as specified in this app. Contact the hostess like us on WhatsApp, she will tell you how to get to the hotel. Its real name is Coimbra City Charm. Why we never understood. The room itself is small but quiet. The hostess is welcome. It's clean. There's a kitchen fully equipped."
Hotel Domus
"Especially in historic cities like Coimbra, I tend to prefer smaller, independent hotels to the big institutional “standard issue” ones, and I can recommend this friendly, clean hotel to anyone who shares this preference. Its location was great, being within easy walking of much that you will want to see in central Coimbra, and there are numerous cafes, restaurants, and pasty shops nearby. The bed was comfortable, the expanded continental-type breakfast was very good, and my room television accessed a variety of stations, including several English-language ones (not that anyone goes to Coimbra to watch television, but during the mid-December rains I encountered, this came in rather handy at times!). There’s still a lot more I need to see in Portugal, but should I return to Coimbra again, I’ll expect to stay at the Domus once more."
The Luggage
"Very nice and stylish hotel, the breakfast could benefit from more vegetables, but all in all good value for money and nice location. I would stay here again, when I come back to Coimbra."
BE Coimbra Hostels
Hotel Ibn-Arrik
"Great breakfast and clean rooms. The pool area does need cleaning though (or more) but we still had fun!"
Hotel Oslo
"Nice service Let me have details town map Great breakfast with warm environment"
Tivoli Coimbra
"We were able to get a room with a same day reservation which was very helpful to us. The hotel is fine with the largest room we had during our stay in Portugal. We were comfortable there and it was an easy and safe walk to the old town center of Coimbra. That being said, the furniture in the rooms are very old and the rooms have not been updated in a very long while. They had at least on large tour bus group there when we visited. The parking is very difficult to access as it is so tight and you have to get buzzed into the parking by the operator. They do have a nice lounge next to the lobby that is open to 11 PM. We did purchase the breakfast but it was nothing special."
