Tasty Dayz Hostel

My wife & I just completed a 7 nite stay at Tasty Dayz Hostel, & want everyone to know how much we enjoyed it! Quite frankly, not enough time. Bryton & Lydia, and their great team made us feel so welcomed. The accommodations we had were very, very comfortable; 2 double beds, ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. This unit had AC, & that was nice to be able to cool down after a hike, or day at the beach. Right outside our room was a large-like lobby area that was accessible for 2 other rooms, too There were comfy chairs, & tables to sit around. Great place to kick back, converse with others, or read. Another highlite for us was the open-air communal kitchen. Plenty of pots & pans to cook with. Ample refrigeration for your groceries, & 2 stoves. Every morning there was a big pot of Costa Rican Coffee made for your enjoyment. We liked this area, too, as we got acquainted with other guests from all over. We would share our different experiences, & we learned a lot. The grounds are kept in tip-top shape, & housekeeping would always ask how things were. Now about Tasty Waves Cantina. Wow, the food is great, the staff is so attentive, & it is a center for some fun activities; trivia, karaoke, & more. The 2 combined, the hostel and cantina, made it the perfect place for us. Plus, right next door you could take the tour of chocolate making; you are not far from the Jaguar Rescue Center; close to Puerto Viejo; and across the street the best beach in our opinion!!! My wife and I like to support small businesses, and especially small businesses that give back to their community, and these businesses do just that! You can tell we are planning our return! Tasty dayz was the perfect place for relaxing and have a resourcing stay. It's simple, colorful, accessible and close to nature. Every single person who work there is welcoming and treat you as a friend. Plus, their resto-bar is amazingly good and filled with nice people. What else is there to ask for? Puerto Viejo is an amazing place and Tasty Dayz just embetters it. Highly recommand it!

Tasty Dayz Hostel Review I stayed at Tasty Dayz Hostel for three weeks, and it was an incredible experience. The price was unbeatable for what you get—a welcoming atmosphere, fantastic facilities, and a staff that genuinely cares about your stay. The location near Playa Cocles is, in my opinion, much better than being in downtown Puerto Viejo. You’re close to the beach, surrounded by nature, and it feels more peaceful while still being just a short bike ride from town. What really made my stay special, though, were the people. The community vibe here is amazing—travelers and staff alike are friendly, laid-back, and full of great energy. Whether it was lounging in the common areas, cooking in the shared kitchen, or heading out for surf sessions, there was always someone to connect with. I highly recommend Tasty Dayz to anyone visiting the area. If you’re looking for a relaxed, fun, and affordable place to stay with all the essentials, this is it!

For hostels it's one of the best I've been to. Well equipped kitchen, lots of space for everyone! The cabins have a great outdoor area. It is soooo close to the beach and one of he best restaurants in town is right beside reception. Super deal for the price.

tasty dayz was awesome! i felt safe as a solo women in the dorms and made a bunch of friends in the adorable practical kitchen. Jamie was the absolute best- and even gave me a tour of a beautiful cliff overlooking cocles. would stay again!! love!

Great location just in front Cocles beach but with a forest vibe. There were 2 sloths at the property when I arrived. The mix dorms are only 4 bed, nice and clean. The kitchen is big and comfortable (fridge could be a bit bigger). The people at the reception are very helpful anytime!
