To flee, I booked 1 night in a room considered by the reception and the website as upgraded in a 3-star hotel. The bathroom is fully equipped as in a nursing home or hospital, which is not mentioned in the advert, and can conversely cause distress and anxiety when faced with this type of equipment. I would like to change rooms but the hotel is full, and reimbursement is impossible since it was not done before 6 p.m. The hotel could not find any other solution to offer me, leaving me alone at 10 p.m. in an industrial zone. I am very surprised by this type of service coming from a 3* hotel, especially since this was a business trip for which my company had reserved other rooms for other employees for around fifteen nights…
After storm Ciaran put paid to our Plymouth ferry crossing, we crossed to France at the crack of dawn to drive to our destination, Estepona. After driving 12 hrs in rain and hail we took a chance and booked the Ibis Styles Bordeaux Begles, en route as it accepted dogs, had parking and a kettle in the room. (Amazing how many hotels haven’t). Our expectations were no more than that. We found the recommended restaurant on-site was closed for Halloween and arrived dejected. However the receptionist, Zergane was a breath of fresh air! So friendly, so helpful and after settling in our room, ordered us takeaway pizzas whilst setting up-a table and organising our drinks! Good selection of wines by the way. We had a lovely evening. How things work out! The hotel itself is modern and clean (albeit easy to miss) and the breakfast was one of the nicest I’ve had in a long time. Freshly squeezed orange juice and a large selection of everything fresh you could wish for. So heads up to the staff and especially Zergane Hamza who, to his credit wouldn’t even take a gratuity. He’ll go a long way in his hospitality career and we wish him the best of luck.

All the staff are very nice and friendly. The hotel and room are very clean. If this hotel provides a kettle, a couple of cups and spoons, and a fridge, it will be perfect. 10-15 mins walk from the train station. Next to the hotel, there is a tramway stop and a little supermarket. We are considering a next trip to Bordeaux. We may book this hotel again.
Good location for access to the train station. Competitive prices. We booked an « executive room »? directly from the hotel website. The room has nothing that can be described as executive, pretty basic if clean and in good condition. However, Our room had no heating, the floor lamp didn’t work, the safe was locked. We asked to change rooms. We were given another identical room where this time things were functional. Bed is covered with a plastic or rubber sheet which makes for a sweaty sleep. Breakfast was acceptable but no hot food. We would recommend choosing a better hotel.
The room was very nice and the size was right. Next to the train station. But if you sleep lightly downstairs, the train station will pass the train. The window soundproofing is good. The rooftop swimming pool, but the pool is very small and there is a problem that is not allowed to be in the pool after six o'clock. That's a little weird.
The hotel is beautifuly maintained, the staff is great. Continental reakfast at 10 euros is ok but fruits could be improved a bit. I was grateful that they were willing to go find me gluten free bread. Perhaps you could add a few more items to the continental breakfast. Guests should be aware of the location of this hotel. It is a long walk to downtown and while there is a tram within 15 minute walking distance, we did not feel very safe in this area. Not recommend you walk around after dark.
We were looking for somewhere near the railway station. and this hotel fitted the bill with the station just just a few minutes walk away. The staff were very friendly Far nice than last night staff in London. the room was small and computable. the room was clean just what we wanted for the night. loved the old style décor of the hotel. breakfast was nice will stay again.

I had 2 extreme experiences...the first and of course first impressions are the most lasting... we arrived to check in and I had to look around for someone to talk to and a young man came out of a small office and looked at me like I had 2 heads and said nothing... I asked if we could check in ( this was 1:15 pm or so) and all he said was ”can't check in until 2 pm” and that was it never smiled, never ask any other questions... in other words probably the worst attitude of any hotel I have been in. The check out which of course was rather simple but there was a young women and young man with big smiles asking if they could help and check us out...complete opposite of the the check-in. thank you !
