The room is very warm. The family room we booked has a 1.5-meter large bed and a 1-meter small bed. The bed is very comfortable and it is very quiet when sleeping at night. The only downside is that there is no elevator, but most B&Bs in Loughborough are There is no elevator. Breakfast is a traditional English breakfast.
A Laird of the Manners serves breakfast in tweed waistcoat and white gloves in an atmosphere of eclectic accoutrements which exude both character and personality of one’s hosts. This is a not to be missed opportunity to remove yourself from the artificial heart of the corporate world into genuine human eccentricity. Not all rooms are en-suite, so be prepared for corridor nighttime etiquette if you have one of the separate private bathrooms. Rooms have fans which help a bit on hot nights and are clean and supplied with everything you might need. Breakfast is copious and delicious, cooked to order. Service is ruthlessly courteous.

5-5⭐️⭐️VERY comfy beds. Really nice owners. Great breakfast 🥞. And very interesting decor. I would definitely come again. Great park opposite. 5 minutes walk into town centre. Two awards for the best guest house is Leicestershire. Would highly recommend. 🌟

What a wonderful night spent at this guest house. Derek and Lez are great hosts and the room was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely too in a very grand dining room . Stayed here because booked an experience on the grand Central railway which is under a ten minute walk away. Highly recommend this guest house.

Very lovely old building and inside decor amazing. Lots to look at. Glad I don’t do the dusting. Our bedroom was lovely with a great comfortable bed. Lez and Derek were both lovely. Had a lovely cooked breakfast with great quality products. Will definately be back when next visiting our daughter. One fun fact, the chest of drawers with the tv, 4th drawer down, handles wrong way round.

Stayed one night for a reunion with friends. Really warm welcome and perfect for what I needed. Good value given the standard of the accommodation and the breakfast included. Accommodation has lots of character and was a welcome change from a chain type hotel. Would definitely return when back in Loughborough

Very Good

Stayed for one night end of August 2024. Google maps took me straight to the car park entrance to the side/rear of the hotel. Plenty of parking, but a bit tight to get into the car park. Wonderfully warm welcome and showed to my room (8). Very comfortable bed but often a little noisy from what I think was the pub to the side. Good night sleep followed by a very tasty breakfast. I normally stay in hotels, but will be happy to stay here again.

A family member very kindly bought us an activity voucher for Christmas for a two night getaway. So earlier in the year I did a lot of research into the places we could use it and saw the Holywell had some really nice reviews. Therefore months ago I called the hotel and made a reservation even requesting the room we wanted and they confirmed room 3 for us due to stay this bank holiday weekend which we were really looking forward to. This week I called the hotel to see what time we could check in on the Saturday to be advised the hotel is closed as the owners are attending a wedding and they do not have anyone else to look after property in their absence. I asked why we were not informed of this to be told they emailed me 4 weeks ago. I then asked what email address it was sent to, to be told “oh no we texted you as we only had your number”. Obviously I never received a text and am very disappointed that a property would just send a text to say your reservation is cancelled, why wouldn’t they call? At least then I may have had time to find somewhere else to stay. First of all if I hadn’t called we could have drove all the way there (120 miles) to find it shut and have no where to stay. Secondly, we booked this a long time ago and I feel this very poor service as now it’s week before bank holiday and of course all the hotels that our voucher can be used at are full and there are no more bank holidays this year where we will be able to use it

A lovely guesthouse. We were greeted by Derek and shown to our room. We had the the accessible room on the ground floor. It faced the main road but it was so quiet at night, so we had a peaceful nights sleep. The breakfast cooked by Lez was one of the best we have had at a guesthouse. Everywhere was clean and nicely decorated. We will definately stay here again if we are in the area again.

We had a weekend at Holywell House and found it to be an excellent place to stay. Les and Derek were at hand for any needs and the breakfast was superb. Cooked and served beautifully with quality products in the Full English. Ideally situated very handily for the Great Central Railway where we enjoyed a steam train ride an also for the town centre with a good selection of restaurants within walking distance. We ate at Eastern Spice which was an excellent Indian restaurant just a few steps away. Thoroughly recommend this B&B.
