We needed a place back in the Cape Town area the night before flying home. I looked for something on False Bay, near the airport, avoiding the downtown area of Cape Town. We also needed wheelchair access. This guest house was perfect. The room on the ground floor was easily accessed from the drive, the main reception area and the dining area. The room was spacious with a really comfortable bed and bit a tub and a big walk shower with a sitting bench. Perfect. There are lovely spaces in the house with great views and a pool on the roof. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The breakfast was very nice. Eggs, pancakes, or waffles cooked to order and and the pastires a step up from the other places we stayed. It is very pricey, but for one night, it was worth it. And not at all pricey compared to London.

We spent 3 nights at St James, whilst the accommodation was very nice and clean, in truth, our stay was so boring. All the rooms were full but it was only at breakfast we saw anyone. Even then we were bombarded by 1950’s dreadful music. There was no atmosphere, it seemed everyone was miserable. Personally, when there are no owners or obvious managers on site running the business it lacks atmosphere and that happy welcome feeling. However, the staff were very nice and polite. Couldn’t wait to leave.

What an amazing spoil this was! The Manor itself was beautiful, the staff were helpful and went out of their way to ensure my every need was met and the breakfast was delicious. I loved every minute of it.

'n Short but beautiful stay before a race in Simon's Town. Will definitely book here again for next year's race. A real gem for anyone who values history and architecture.

Allen and the other staff were great! It is a 1880 Mansion with 8 guest rooms and impeccably restored/maintained filled with antiques, just very relaxing. I would highly recommend for its charm, location and staff. Satori Restaurant 5-10min walk down street is Amazing food and service (ask for Shantell). Highly recommend!

This guesthouse, at St James, is a must, for anyone wanting accommodation away from the city, on the False Bay coast. From the reception desk, through the immaculately furnished lounge then to your suites, this guesthouse is full of wonderful furniture, adding to the 'old world" character of this magnificent guesthouse. The suites are beautiful, spacious, and of course with beautiful furniture and fittings. The staff, especially Goodnews , are exceptional, and will attend to your all your needs. There are plentiful local restaurants, galleries and bars to visit. just down the road.
