Booked a holiday but hotel we chose had issues fulfilling our booking so we chose this hotel on a whim - BEST MOVE EVER! Canico is a fairly quiet town, this beautiful hotel is set in the most stunning gardens. The rooms are over two floors, all spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Ours certainly felt like we’d stepped onto a film set with two full balconies and a Juliet balcony all with great views over the ocean or gardens. The gardens are amazing with different “rooms” a zen garden, herb garden and veg garden (all produce used in onsite restaurants which are excellent) You could spend ages wandering around the gardens or be sat with a drink in the pool bar admiring views over the ocean with banana trees, bird of paradise and many other spectacular plants. The staff are a wonderful friendly caring group of people who clearly love where they work. There is a lovely spa you can book into for a great range of treatments. A fabulous hotel for rest and relaxation which is exactly what we needed. Some reviewers find it a bit old fashioned and if you want plate glass and chrome, and constant entertainment, then this is not the place for you. If however, you want peace and quiet, friendly and helpful staff, good food, a choice of indoor or outdoor pool, and a warm welcome, all in beautiful surroundings with the colourful and very well maintained gardens all around, then this is a wonderful place to stay. We had a huge suite with a sun room and wrap around balcony - it was a perfect week and we will definitely return.

Accueil sympa , mais parle peu le français. Vaste chambre avec salon et tv écran plat Grande terrasse avec table et transat, vue mer et piscine. C’est très calme et reposant, Le jardin est magnifique magique Le petit déjeuner est varié On a passé un super séjour

Cet hôtel porte bien son nom, le jardin est splendide et est un atout majeur pour des vacances reposantes. J'y ai séjourner pendant une semaine avec mon fils, chacun a trouvé son bonheur. Le studio est très grand et bien aménagé. L'espace extérieur est également grand avec plusieurs espaces de détente. Petit déjeuner buffet OK mais la qualité de charcuterie est très moyenne. Superette à l'extérieure de l'hôtel + la cuisine équipée du studio nous a permis d'équilibré le budget. Large offre d'excursion. Le personnel est au petit soin et parle beaucoup de langue. Localisation idéal, 15 min de l'aéroport + ligne de bus pour rejoindre Funchal en 30 min.

Nous avons séjourné récemment dans cet hôtel à Madère. L’établissement est un peu vieillot, mais globalement confortable. Toutefois, nous avons été déçus par le niveau de propreté, qui mériterait une attention plus rigoureuse. Le personnel est dans l’ensemble sympathique, à l’exception notable d’un certain Monsieur Herdin (ou Verdun ?), dont l’attitude nous a profondément choqués. Un soir de pluie, toutes les tables de la salle intérieure principale étaient occupées. Une autre salle, située juste en face, semblait accessible. Nous nous y sommes donc installés, comme d’autres clients, sans penser poser problème. C’est alors que ce Monsieur s’est approché de manière très désagréable pour exiger que mon compagnon, habillé d’un short blanc, quitte la salle ou se change, au motif que cette salle serait réservée à une clientèle “spécifique”. Nous avons trouvé cette intervention déplacée, tant dans la forme que sur le fond, d’autant plus dans un hôtel qui, bien que classé 4 étoiles, n’en reflète pas toujours les standards attendus. Cette expérience a terni notre séjour, ce qui est regrettable car l’île de Madère est magnifique et mériterait un accueil à la hauteur de sa beauté.

Absolut tolle Gartenanlage, in die die Gebäude super integriert sind. Essen super, Frühstückbuffett absolut reichhaltig. Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel sehr nah, ebenfalls Supermarkt und Post. Wer reichhaltige Unterhaltung sucht, ist jedoch in dem kleinen Ort östlich von Funchal falsch am Platz. Fahrt mit dem Bus ca. 20 Min, Endstation endet an der Promenade von Funchal, direkt neben der Seilbahn zu Monte und sehr zentral zur Altstadt. Die Damen und der Herr an der Rezeption waren überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Was schlecht war ist, dass das Wasser sehr stark gechlort ist und nicht getrunken werden kann - kein Hinweis dazu im Hotel und nur für den ersten Tag wird ein Flasche Wasser (3/4 Liter) kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt. Die folgenden Tage darf man entweder im Hotel pro Flasche 4,50 € bezahlen oder vom nahen Supermarkt Flaschen schleppen und Müll produzieren. Quinta Splendida legt Wert auf Ökologie. Bei jeder Mahlzeit wird das Besteck und die Serviette in Papiertüten auf den Tisch gelegt, was m.E. zu viel Müll produziert. Dabei sind die Tische schön hergerichtet. Die Papiertüten stören das Bild und entsprechen auch nicht dem Standard des Hotels.

Wundervolles freundliches Personal mit einer traumhaft schön Anlage. Alles sehr gepflegt. Der Garten ist ein Traum. Das Frühstück lässt keine wünsche offen und auch das Restaurant La Perla ist eine Perle.

.Wunderschöne Anlage in einem gepflegten botanischen Garten. Phantasievolle Gestaltung mit vielen Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten Gemütlicher Spabereich. Frühstück reichhaltig und lecker Netter Service, freundliche Mitarbeiter. Die Zimmer sind ordentlich, aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen (Reparaturbedarf) Der Deutsche Fernsehempfang ist leider schlecht . Da gibt es deutlich Luft nach oben Positiv anzumerken: Es gibt ganz in Nähe eine prima Bäckerei und einen gut sortierten Supermarkt. Darüber hinaus fussläufig 2 oder 3 gute und preiswerte Restaurants Ein Mietwagen ist empfehlenswert, da hier doch alles sehr steil ist Eine Fahrt mit dem Bolttaxi nach Funchal kostet ca 10 Euro pro Auto
