Hotel Canandaigua, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Clean rooms,  ice location and beautiful views.

We picked the hotel for its location, it overlooks the lake and has great views. The room is decent. They could have a better ventilation, as it gets pretty suffocated especially when the windows are closed. Breakfast service was very slow. There were only two people managing a full house. Gym is decent. The hotel staff is friendly. Food is decent. They could do better with the complimentary coffee they provide in the lobby in mornings.

My husband and I wanted to cap off a 2 week road trip with a unique property on a lake. Property said they only had two rooms left and we were quoted more than $400 for the room but figured it would be worth it. It was not. The room was barren, had one rickety chair for the table, an AC/heater outlet with splatter on it, no real glasses but rather the cheap cups you would expect to find in a motel six, and 4 pillows on the king bed. The lake view we were promised was part lake and at least half hotel rooftop . We were beyond disappointed and really should have left the property after we saw the room. The front desk did try to help by offering us another chair and real glasses. However, this experience left us cold and feeling ripped off. We were offered a new room the second day which was pretty much the same as the first minus splatter and we looked over a park to water and had a balcony. The bed was decent and the towels were nice which is the only reason I gave this hotel two stars. Go to a Holiday Inn E xpress and skip this property.

Hotel was in a great location. Our room was clean, comfortable and updated. We appreciated the upgrade to a room with a view of the lake.

We receive an email with automated early check in and the ability to get a digital key via the Hilton app and we thought it was great. The email suggested "Skip Check in" so we downloaded the key. We received the digital key and our room number before arrival. Upon arrival, We loaded our luggage on to the elevator to go to our pre assigned room. The elevator required a key to operate, we tried our digital key to operate the elevator and it did not work. We unloaded the elevator and when to the front desk to ask why we could not get to our room with the digital key. We were told you needed a regular key to operate the elevator. Why would you send us an email to skip checkin if you can't skip check in because the digital key does not operate the elevator? The person attending the front desk was unapologetic. We paid over $850/night for a suite overloooking the parking lot that was preassigned via the non operative digital key. Of course, we were told no other options were available. The Large room we were assigned was sparsely furnished. The large Bedroom had no windows and poor lighting. There was a large closet area in the bedroom but it had no shelves , no hanging rods, only a closet space with no door. The hanging closet was in the living area and had no doors. A bit strange if you have a large room and expect to entertain. The entry way was a 12 x 12 room with no furniture. The hotel clearly did not spend any funds on interior design.
