Solymar Gran Hotel

Location: The hotel boasts a stunning beachside location, offering breathtaking views from various spots such as the restaurant, reception, and pools. Its proximity to the beach and amenities like the beach club enhances the overall experience.

We stayed at the Solymar Gran Hotel from 6th to 15th September. We were in room *** which was a double with seaview. The room exceeded our expectations. The view from the balcony was fabulous (see pic). The room was spacious with a huge comfortable bed, 2 chairs and a small table, and a desk. The wardrobe was plenty big enough with sufficient clothes hangers. The bathroom was large with a separate toilet and bidet, a bath with shower fitment over it and a separate shower unit too. The sink was a good size and there was an assortment of toiletries, shower cap, vanity kit, bamboo comb etc. The room also had a beach bag and sun hat along with foot cream and pillow sleep mist. We loved it! Breakfast was a fabulous buffet with the best choice we've ever had in a hotel. Every option you could possibly think of was available and it was available between 7.30am and 11am which was also great. We are not big sunbathers so I couldn't tell you about sunbed availability as that's not our thing anyway. The 2 pools looked lovely but we preferred to swim in the sea every day, the beach handily located just a few steps away. We didn't use the spa facilities but did go to the gym which was very well equipped. The staff were all exceptional. On reception, in the dining rooms, the bar areas, the cleaning ladies...everyone was professional, friendly and helpful. We had only booked for bed and breakfast as there were plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from in Calpe to have lunch/dinner. The only negative about the hotel was the one time we paid 40 euros each to sample the evening meal buffet. The food choice wasn't very inspiring, the hot food was just warm and we didn't think it was worth the money we paid. But that did not take away from the holiday hence I'm still giving it 5/5. On the last day we weren't being picked up from the hotel until 7pm but we were able to store our luggages for the day and use the showers in the spa to freshen up and change clothes before our journey home. I highly recommend this hotel. It was a fabulous holiday.
