I was surprised that they asked for a $50 deposit at the start. The room rates are reasonable but yet get what you pay for, My rate was $75, but there were no extra towels. The ones they had were rough and not well laundered. On had a dark stain on it so I used it for a floor mat. It's reasonably quiet, but I got a call from the desk at 4:00 AM. It was a mistake, but still ruined my sleep. They did not make up my room after my first night.

The WiFi code did not work. The cable did not work. The staff asked for $100 deposit that they would hold on to overnight and I could get back in in the morning... Even though they had a credit card on file.

Needs new beds
This is about a 50yr.old roadside motel of orig. basic construction. New owners it seems, who are obviously (slowly...) trying to fix it up (eg. repainting exterior when I stayed). Right on Hwy 1 into town from the west. It really really needs new beds (all units). And must shift to card-key for rooms. Still uses a regular key like for one's house.
Bldg & all units need weatherproofing at doors & windows to keep cold air out in winter. And needs new Soundproofing layer(s) added between all units and between floors too.

Clean but minimal.
The place was convenient to the trans Canada. Lots of parking and check in was fairly quick and easy. The room was clean and adequate. The bed was clean and comfortable. The room was tired though. The tub had rust on the base and not all of the lights worked. I didn’t use the fridge or microwave so won’t comment on them but they were there. There was a humpty restaurant next door but no coffee in the room. It was okay as a sleeping room on the way by but not with family.
