The staff is friendly, helpful, and speaks good English. Conveniently located near downtown with easy access to amenities. However, some guests experienced delays and unappealing breakfast options.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Midtown. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room itself was clean. The location of the hotel was also very convenient exploring the city.

Avoid, definitely avoid. Very disappointed. Booked the hotel but room wasn’t in a hostel 2 floors down. Building is in terrible shape. Room was not what we booked. Photos are misleading, they show you’ll get a balcony and a certain layout, you don’t. Room and hotel smelt like an ashtray. No blankets given. Advised them of all the issues, answers given were ridiculous. When asking for a blanket the response was ‘we don’t have blankets, no one asks for blankets but I’ll do you a favour and bring you a duvet cover to use as one.’ Bathroom was shocking. Disgusting. No way of showering either without flooding the bathroom (and no it wasn’t a wet room). No breakfast was offered or available.

Inmueble descuidado Buena ubicación. Las habitaciones bonitas pero el inmueble súper descuidado, casi en ruinas y sucio su entorno. No me agradó.

Our stay in the Midtown was fine. We were a bit worried since it was our first night in Cairo and considering that the surrounding city streets are dark and busy it was reassuring when we met Mahmoud the owner. Firstly, he reached out via Whatsapp to ensure we’d a taxi or tours, we’d already prebooked these but he was the only hotel owner who was upfront and straight with no hassle on the tours. This is nice because during the trip the guides sometimes went overboard trying to sell tours to you, Mahmoud has respect and patience. The access is via 4 flights of stairs or an elevator which looks broken but works perfectly fine. Mahmoud welcomed us, did the passports and showed us to the room in good time, no waiting around. The room was: fine, clean and quiet. Bathroom had toilet paper and hot water, only thing we’d to ask for was a hair dryer and towels but the other hotels always seem to have these upon request only too. The wifi had extenders but seemed to be weak, a recurrent issue we had in our other hotels. The WE mobile network from the sims we bought in airport was better. Mahmoud checked if we wanted tours which was good. Breakfast in morning was fine, eggs, bread and falafel. Nothing dissimilar from the rest of the hotels. A bit slower than usual from the staff to get the breakfast, but when it came it was good. Finally on check out day we’d an early start and the guy was helpful, wanted to check the room but didn’t keep us waiting. Overall, I’m quiet happy we stayed here and would give 4/5, as it was good value for money. You’re not paying for the Ritz Carlton here, Mahmound seems to be an honest guy doing an honest days work and that made our trip better. Improvement Tip: I think there should be a Wifi booster in every room.,quicker coffee and cleaner staircase.

Honest review. The location is great, close by to everything. Clean and beautiful rooms but if you stay here, you are on your own. Expect zero service from the hotel whether it is check in on time, early breakfast request (specially if you requested it a day prior and they agreed still you won't get) , help with luggage (even if 3 ppl are looking at you struggling with luggage, no help) , room services like if you get kettle on request and you ask for glasses, they won't like it, room with 3 beds have only 2 blankets and If you ask for 3rd one, they won't like it. No help with the routes, as they don't know most of the things in their own city. They made us feel like we asked too much from them though these are some basic things which they should provide. They just need good reviews and they will ask you to write good reviews 10 times, but when it comes to providing services, you wont get anything. Though they let us keep the luggage when we were outside the city, thank you very much for that.

This hotel is on the 5th floor of a horribly degraded building, but that's nothing compared to the behavior of the manager who received us, my wife and myself. The problem wasn't that he tried to sell us excursions before we were even seated in the lounge he ushered us into, as this process is very common in Egypt. What we found inadmissible was that he asked us to pay more than the price on which we had nevertheless agreed by email and, above all, that he sent us to another hotel that was EVEN SMALLER, surely because that he understood that he wouldn't get us an extra dollar. We had to spend our Valentine's Day in a dive without hot water, wet sheets and a window that wouldn't close when my wife had chosen a so-called "luxurious" and very expensive hotel (36 dollars in Cairo , it is very expensive). This man should be ashamed and change his profession.
