Was accorded a supposed upgrade inclusive of breakfast. Room was spacious and in-room amenities sufficient. However, water temperature was difficult to control and water was either too hot or too cold. Staff were generally pleasant though it came as a surprise that they required us to furnish so many details, including our previous and next destinations. Staff were also rather particular about the number of bottles of water that could be provided. Was not able to enjoy the breakfast as it only started at 8.30am, which is rather late. Hotel is located near a night walking street as well as close to known chain Miniso.

Burqin is the first stop to Altay. There will be no direct flights from Shanghai to Altay in September, so we have to transfer in Lanzhou. The flight takes off at 6:55 and arrives in Altay at 15:00.
